Travelling party: Seniors

This woodland retreat site is just a few minutes drive from the busy A12 motorway (some reviews say there is a great deal of road noise particularly on the north of the site) OK if you stayed still and listened you could hear the road but we found our pitch peaceful and tranquil. There are endless fabulous cycling possibilities.
When we arrive in Netherlands on the ferry from UK getting a campsite on the first night is always a chore as the ferry docks at Hoek van Holland at 5.15pm while the reception on many campsites, as on this, closes at 5.00pm. We rang the site a few days before we arrived and the lady was most helpful took a reservation and gave us a number to “safe number 1” at the reception building inside which was placed all necessary for our first night.
Complaint has also been made in other reviews of the access road, all but the last few hundred metres are tarmac and those last few, while rough(ish), were no problem if negotiated with a little care.
All the staff we had contact with spoke excellent English and were very helpful.
The toilets and showers were modern and spotlessly clean, a credit to the team of cleaners.

Travelling party: Couple

Lovely position in the forest with easy cycling to the surrounding area. The grass sites with electric, water and drainage are spacious. On some sites there is noise from the motorway. Toilets clean, no toilet paper, tokens provided for the showers. Cafe on site. Facilities good for our visit at the end of August in low season.
