The site has most things you would want on a caravanning holiday. Sadly, after a couple of days a member of our party had their very expensive bike stolen, along with two others during the night. The next night eight bikes were stolen. The management are aware of this and yet do not inform you on arrival to take extra measures with security. They say they hand out leaflets but we didn’t meet anyone who received one. The police, who were very helpful, informed us that there had been 200 thefts on the site in three months. They advised us not to have a full awning as the thieves just slash the awning and pull any bikes or belongings out. It is a huge site, so difficult to police but the camp have one security person of a night and no CCTV cameras anywhere. One theft occurred outside reception. It is sad because the site could be OK. The reception staff don’t tell you the same story twice and the management just don’t care. We left with five nights still paid for. Although this was because we couldn’t relax but no reimbursement was offered. Please take this review seriously, I only wish we had been warned.

We turned up at 20:00hr told not to unpack as we may be required to move next day staff very unhelpful. Toilets were smelly and horrible not towel to dry hands lack of soap. Next day tryed to get a different pitch because it was a noisey night. Staff at reception unhelpful so declined to stay paid for a fool day even though we never got use of facilities will not be back. What is written in the acsi book is fiction about this site; one of the worst ive went onmoved to the deft beautiful site.

As seniors this was not the site for us.
We paid for amenities we did not use.
We will stay at Katwijk next time.
You must vacate the site by 11:00am and we were booked on the overnight ferry so needed to park up till late afternoon.
