Ideal location for travelling into Amsterdam. Ten minute walk to the metro which takes you into centre of city. Shower block adequate and clean. Showers and all hot water to be paid for extra 80 cents. Reception helpful and decent site shop. Pitches generous.
This is a well-organised and well-run site. Very helpful staff with excellent language skills. The main advantage of this site is its proximity to Amsterdam centre. There is a metro stop about 5 minutes walk from the site and a short metro ride to the main station in Amsterdam. You can buy a day pass for the metro and trams from reception. This pass is good value and we used the trams to get about in Amsterdam. Reception will provide a map showing the tram routes and it easy to hop on and off and find your way about.
There is a small shop on the campsite, good for bread and milk etc.
Buy tokens at reception for showers and also for hot water for dishwashing.
There is a small bar and restaurant which looked fine, though we did not use it.
Stopped here on the way to the Baltic coast. Staff very helpful, pitch plenty big enough, excellent place to stay as you explore Amsterdam, easily accessible from the motorway, although the roadworks did hold us up. Would definitely use this site again.
Large campsite in a good spot for visiting Amsterdam and surroundings, easily reached from the motorway. I stayed on the large tent field at the rear that was not too crowded in late May, and with little traffic noise. Annoyingly for some reason they kept dividing the field up by putting up rope fences that you had to step over to get to and from the toilets. Facilities are clean but not fantastic, showers with coins and no hot water at the wash basins. Staff is friendly. There is a decent site shop that also provides coffee and bread in the morning, the basic restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The metro to the city center is only a 5 minute walk away. Overall I can recommend this site if you want to camp near Amsterdam.
Have only rated facilities applicable to us. The site was perfect, great dog walking with very easy access to Amsterdam, pitches a little close together but very well maintained. Toilets good and clean. The use of shower tokens is their choice and not ours to complain about, we were aware before we booked so not a problem. We had a 48 hr Metro ticket, heading for Amsterdam, if you get off at the first stop 3 minutes there is a very good supermarket opposite the entrance to the Metro, very handy, good quality food.
Stayed here for 10 days. It is a brilliant base for visiting Amsterdam and North or South Holland. Extremely efficient reception staff who went above and beyond with any query. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Site is beautifully kept. Toilets kept clean. Even though there is an excellent restaurant on site if you just want a snack there is a kiosk outside the metro station who does fantastic chips!
Just returned from 5 nights at this site. Staff friendly and helpful. However I was slightly unhappy at the arrangements for shower tokens.I feel we should have been given all tokens due when we booked in at reception and not handed out on a day by day basis. Especially so when reception did not open until 9.00am. And the first token did not work and I was unable to have a cold shower as the system operates on a no token no water basis. Otherwise a great site and feel sure we will return.
Chief advantage of this site is the nearby metro connection to central Amsterdam. The pitches are reasonable but you need tokens for hot water in the washing-up area and separate tokens for showers. We had to specifically ask for the free shower tokens we were entitled to under ACSI rules and then we were asked "do you want them for every day of your stay". Be warned - there is no facility for hot water in the wash basins.
Good proximity to the Metro and an easy ride into Amsterdam; buy your tickets at reception for ease. Well-grassed pitches and smooth check-in despite this being high season. For a city centre location, the rate was good value; can't compare this with rural locations. Where else could you stay in Amsterdam for the same money ?
Great base for visiting Amsterdam. Pitches level and very well maintained. Good drainage so no standing water even after heavy rain. We booked in advance via email and had a quick reply; however we didn't get a reply when we tried to contact the site via ACSI contact page. Very limited ACSI periods so expect to pay more than 19 euros. Shower tokens 80 cents each (5 minutes). Quite a busy weekend (Easter) but no issues with noise. Only gripe was not having hot water or soap in bathrooms or toilet block. You have to pay for hot water for dish washing too. A bit odd that they charge for water as wifi was excellent and free.
Checkout is 1200 but you can stay a bit longer for 2 euros per hour. Handy if you're on the Rotterdam evening ferry.
Overall I would recommend this site especially if you plan to go into Amsterdam. 48 hour travel pass cost 12.50 euros and was well worth it. Time starts when you first use it and you can buy them at reception. Use on metros, trams and night buses.
