Travelling party: Couple

Lovely quiet campsite with a choice of shaded or unshaded pitches. There are several small fields, all with level pitches, so the site would be good for a small group. Toilet facilities are well maintained and clean. Laundry was done by the staff, which saves time but might not give the flexibility to dry some things on a line and others in the drier. The bar and restaurant has good beer, a menu of snacks, main meals and desserts, and a lovely sunny terrace. Zoutkamp is an attractive little village with shops, bars, cafés, a small beach and swimming lake, and the waterway. Excellent location for cycling, walking, boats, birdwatching and fishing. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed much longer than planned.

Travelling party: Seniors

This is a lovely campsite which is surrounded by trees and shrubs. This in turn attracts plenty of wildlife. Nicely kept showers with lots of hot water. The chemical toilet emptying point is well thought out. I note that the toilet block is a ‘unit’ that comes directly from the maker and installed on site. It is therefore well designed and fit for purpose. Some of the corners, whilst entering or leaving the site with my caravan attached, proved a little bit challenging and I had to detach it and use the mover once. In all fairness though, my car is nearly 5 m long and the ‘van is nearly 8 m. The owner, BJ and his wife are very obliging and friendly and speak perfect English, which was a bonus, as my Dutch is non existent! The bar/restaurant is very atmospheric with tasty and well presented meals, the beers aren’t bad either. In short, this site is well worth a trip ‘up north’.
