Kim and Jimmy, on this campsite in November 2012

Travelling party: Couple

We stayed on this site for one night during a late Autumn break to Benelux. The Dutch owners were very friendly and welcoming. The pitches for tourers are beside the river at this time of year and are of a good standard. Sanitary facilities were excellent with plenty hot water. We were given a card for the showers with enough time on it for a shower at night as well as morning. Although on-site facilities were closed at this time of year, there appeared plenty to do with pool, crazy golf, boules and children's play area. The site also has a large bar/restaurant, which looked nice. Being pitched alongside the river we could not resist walking along the path to the next village, Bettendorf, which was very pleasant. Diekirch is a nice small town with shops, bars, restaurants, brewery and military museum. We would definitely return and recommend this site.

We found this site a strange mixture. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and spoke excellent English, however we did feel we were overwhelmed by the Dutch on the site. Our pitch was by the river which was nice but it did feel quite tight especially as the family next to us had pitched their tent right on the boundary. Most outfits around us had caravans, awings and a supplementary awning on top of the usual awing. This did give the site rather an encampment feel and indeed it appeared that most families stayed on site. The small town of Diekirch was a 10 minute walk away and was a pleasant place to visit, we recommend the mobile grill in the square which sold excellent sausages and cuts of grilled pork. The sanitary facilities were very clean and modern but care does have to be taken with the shower card which has a pricy deposit which we would have lost if the card was mislaid. Luxembourg is well worth a visit.

We found the site quite crowded as the campers were mainly Dutch and most had extra awnings and annexes. The shower card was a worry as we were travelling as a party of four including our 14 year old son and his friend so we were quite worried about the fact that if they left the card in the shower we would lose our deposit. The boys were also disappointed that the pool was small and that crazy golf was an extra cost.
However, we loved the location. We had a pitch next to the river and it was a 10 minute walk into Diekirch which was a lovely little town. Luxembourg itself was amazing and we were surprised that most people just seemed to stay on site.

Friendly staff who spoke excellent English. Site right next to river with cycle paths. Interesting little town within walking distance. The food in the campsite restaurant was delicious. We only stayed 1 night and wish we could have stayed longer.
