Warm welcome from reception staff and shower to our pitch which was ample in size for our s van meter Motorhome, shower block and toilets clean if not a little dated, a few more sit on toilets rather than the squat and hope for the best would be appreciated, lovely pool and beach all included. Good value per night.
Now for the not so good. Outside the camp is a narrow road which has two way traffic and no pavement, this is extremely dangerous, my wife and myself where very nearly knocked over, we both had to dive out of the way of an oncoming car who I presume did not see us given that the driver did not stop to check if we where ok. On a second occasion a driver on his mobile phone came all to close for comfort.
We booked in for seven nights and stayed only two. If you stay here please be very careful of the road.
Really impressed by the size of pitches, neat and tidy site, and beautiful beach. Had a really lovely stay here. Would recommend.
Used as a 3-night stop over. We chose a pitch across the road from the main complex which was considerably quieter and more suited to us. Pleasing to see that a separate pitching area is allocated to those with dogs. We had a serviced pitch with water and drain which was good, and also flat, offering some shade. Toilet block was always clean and regularly serviced. Used the washing machine which was very good value. Nice to be escorted to our chosen pitch and shown the services, otherwise some of the roads would be tricky with our length of caravan. To sum up, other than a visit to nearby Chioggia, the area is not for us, but the stay was excellent value using the ACSI card and served its purpose for us.
This was our second visit to this site and this time we stayed for 2 weeks.
Miramare has access to its own monitored beach with a shallow sea.
There are 2 sizes of pitches and we found the larger pitch accomodated our tent and car well. All pitches had electricity.
There are 2 washrooms with free showers with a mix of Western and Turkish toilets (perhaps too few Western style for us).
There is a large pool along with a shallow toddler pool adjacent to the entertainment and bar/ restuarant area where you can order takeaway pizza or sit in. the site has a small shop with a good selection.
Miramare is accessed by a narrow road that can become congested and difficult to navigate as there is no kerb for pedestrians and you share the road with cars and bikes.
The town of Sottomarina is within easy walking distance and Chioggia is accessable by foot (40 mins), bus or car and is well woth a visit. There is a ferry to Venice from Chioggia to St Marks every day and provides excelent views.
The Camping site is situated in a semi-residential area on the edge of Sottomarina, between the various camping sites are apartment blocks and small holdings. At Camping Miramare, Allessandro Boscolo, his family and staff run a very efficient and friendly site. We stayed just 8 nights but were treated as if we were staying months. The site is very well run with customer safety and security very much apparent. As a dog owner, I was impressed by the 'Dog Waste' points providing free pick-up bags. Also on site is a small shop selling groceries, drinks and holiday goods. With information provided by the reception team we visited Venice by ferry from Chioggia (with our dog), car parking is just across the road from the ferry and was inexpensive. Chioggia Old Town is about 10 minutes away and well worth a visit, with its central canal it's like a mini Venice. A visit to Padova is a must also. If we can, we will certainly visit again.
Although only staying one night we were treated as if we were long-term guests. Claudia in reception was very helpful. We hired bikes to visit Chioggia & had a great night out.
