Arrived on the first day of the ACSI period to be told contrary to the guide that ACSI rate no longer appropriate on the pitches closed to the water. You cannot just pay extra to have one of the front pitches you have to pay the non ACSI rate which is nearly twice the cost. We decided as we arrived with the expectation of getting a waterside pitch if available we would pay the full (double) price. We were given a pitch number and a key with that number on but there was already someone on it. On my third walk back to reception I was told to pick an empty pitch and go on it and keep the key I was given. This worked fine until 2days later somebody was given the key to our pitch and reluctantly selected another pitch only to be challenged themselves by another couple with the key to their pitch! The system doesn’t work and is just upsetting all round. If you choose a front pitch you should be given a key without a number and told to choose one of the pitches available and lock the chain to show you have a key. Locking the chain when you leave also prevents people using the pitch when not opting to pay the higher cost.
The facilities are 1950s retro, prefer if they were updated, clean but old.The site is ideal for Venice but very busy and vibrant until late. Reception friendly and helpful, good well stocked shop, but location is the big plus.
This site had a real problem with late night noise whilst we were there. They cater for youth groups with discos late into the evening i.e. 2.00am. There was also a very disruptive car rally group in for one night camping who were noisy until even later and made a nuisance of themselves driving quickly on the campsite roads. Several family groups packed up and went. The site has to control these activities if it wants to retain traditional campers. When we checked in we were warned about the noise and it was suggested that we camp as far away as possible if we didn’t want the noise. That’s not really a viable solution. Earplugs were essential and even then noise was a problem. Also some noise from planes on approach to Venice airport and ships in the deep water channel and nearby port.
Also was quite expensive per day in July. Site access is through the industrial area but once at the site though it’s in a great position. It was quite busy and there are no fixed pitches. It has varying shade available across the site. Electricity points are OK with a long lead but there are no water points around the site. Showers good - not timed and temperature adjustable. Toilets good - plenty of space and washbasin in each cubicle and with seats and paper provided. Wifi expensive per day so didn’t use it.
Good access to Venice via the hourly ferry. Day and 3 days tickets that also give unlimited travel on all the water buses available.
Long trek back through the industrial area to get to any supermarkets and onsite shop is expensive.
Because of the noise we will look for another site if visiting Venice area again.
This site has 24/7 reception so what ever time you can get checked in. Acsi card use for me and price was good. Pitch was a little dirty under foot from the damp weather. Hook up is not on every pitch so if busy you may need an extra lead. Toilets are new blocks at the back kept spotless. No hand wash tho. The washing up area good. Laundry the usual pay machine system. There is a bar but I found it a little expensive. I didn't try the restaurant either. The ferry is just across the road and is the best way to get in town. Car and bike parking is difficult and more expensive than the ferry. Staff were helpful I just got the wrong one at check out who had lost her smile. Overall ideal Acsi stop over for Venice for a few days
We stayed here in peak season (Aug) & found lack of organisation. The staff were stretched dealing with an almost full campsite. It is an old site & in need of upgrading, there is a severe lack of EHU points so take a long extension lead & also no water available except at dedicated filling point by MH service area. The only pitches which are marked out are the ones by the lagoon (worth getting) but they don't have elec nearby, all others are random spaces in between trees. The showers & wc facilities are modern & clean (ignore the original older style designed by a famous architect in the 60's!) several washing machines, a bar, shop & restaurant. A lot of noise from bar at night so choose pitch at far side if you don't want to join in!
Very easy access to water bus across to Venice, 20 min ride, tickets from reception.
The approach to the campsite by road is not attractive, through an industrial area, we thought we'd taken wrong turning, but keep going, worth it when you get there!
It is expensive & water bus ticket pricey but very convenient to visit Venice with a lovely view over the lagoon & with the huge container ships going in & out of the nearby port an amazing sight.
Worth noting, contrary to rumour, dogs are allowed on the water buses.
Stayed here to visit Venice. Perfect location for that (100mts to water bus which leaves every hour, tickets available from site reception) Site mixed layout, under pine trees, no marked pitches which makes it more difficult for a large motor home , tents spread themselves out! But a few pitches waterside, large enough for bigger units but limited ehu, if you come here an extension cable is helpful /essential as not many points. The view is amazing, right across to Venice so worth this inconvenience. Also awesome sight watching the huge container ships coming into port nearby, sailing metres from your pitch. Facilities good & modern. Well stocked mini market, bar & restaurant ( although we didn't eat there). Some noise from bar in evening. From the main road, following signs to the campsite, the road goes past an industrial area, don't be put off by this, it does lead to Camping Fusina.
A good stop over to visit Venice.
Staff efficient with good English. Flat sandy unallocated pitches, both shaded and unshaded. Busy site with high turnover. Some noise from passing vessels, including ships to adjacent port area. 'Youth noise' from bungalows on site. Expensive boat bus, adjacent but very handy for Venice.
Great pitches, right by the water with a view of Venice and a 5 minute walk to passenger ferry, a 15 minute ride from the centre. Site is clean, flat and well maintained, staff very helpful. If you want to visit Venice but get a good nights sleep as well, for a reasonable price, this is the site to go for.
A great site for visiting Venice, and the domes of St Marks can be seen across the water. Situated right on the bay, a major shipping channel runs past the site which means huge container ships and ferries pass within a few metres – thrilling!
This was our first taste of relaxed camping with no set pitches, just people parking up wherever they wanted. You’ll need a long electric lead if you want a waterside pitch though, and it’s further to get to the modern toilet block.
Venice is just a 20 minute boat ride from the site. Be warned – the ACSI season finished very early – on 31 March - and charges go up quite a lot after that.
