This is a delightful, peaceful site. Pitches are large, shaded and flat, choose your own in low season. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bus for Siena stops in the campsite. Good coffee in the café. Several reviews mention fan fold doors in toilet block, but this meant no crashing of doors if you are pitched near the shower block! Toilet block was always clean. We enjoyed this site and will happily return.
Very nice, quiet rural site with easy access into Sienna by bus (bus-stop in the campsite). Local town pleasant to visit and some good cycling routes in the area.
For me the only reason to stay here is the proximity to Siena and the bus to get there. The pitches were small and difficult to manoeuvre into. The one we\'d chosen was taken by a Dutch couple while we were manoeuvring into it. The motorhome service point was quite difficult to access.
Friendly campsite in lovely location. Excellent bus service into Siena and also able to walk about half an hour into local village by track. Bread available on site and bar/ restaurant open. Very good sanitary block, good showers (no problem with doors), hot water, toilet paper but no toilet seats (why?). Watch out for ants in woodland pitches!
Very very quiet. You could be forgiven for thinking that you had stumbled across a land that time forgot. This has to be the quietest site I have ever stayed on. Facilities are ok, the showers have no dry area for changing but they are tucked away from prying eyes. What makes this site is its vastness and the peacefulness of the woods. There is much walking and wandering to be done here and a day can disappear just relaxing, time has definitely stood still here. The best bit is that the bus to Siena comes right into the site to pick you up and drop you off, but there are only two a day there and back. Brilliant wifi too.
This is a re visit of the site for us. It\'s a basic site with clean sanitary facilities, odd showers with strange folding doors and no dry area but it\'s a great site for visiting sienna. Bus pulls into the campsite and you can buy tickets from reception. The pitches are hard standing some with lots of shade. We stayed to visit sienna but for us it\'s not a campsite to stay for a weeks holiday.
This is a quiet woodland terraced site. Some pitches needed leveling chocks. Pitches are good size. There is a simple wash block that this very clean. No separate dry area in showers and strange folding doors but well kept. The bus to Siena stops actually inside the campsite and Siena was beautiful, if you are in this area we can\'t recommend enough to go there. We actually caught the later bus at 4pm and then home on the 8pm from Siena. There were 2 earlier buses at 8.30am and 10.45am but the first bus returning in the afternoon was about 4pm which may be too long for some?? There is a footpath to the side of the site that goes to Sovicille. Nearest supermarket is Rosia. The lady on reception wasn\'t the friendliest! This site is perfect to visit Siena and surrounding area if you have a car or scooter - it\'s not for the faint hearted on a push bike!
We agree with other positive comments here - a pleasant site in attractive surroundings with the obvious benefit of an easy bus service into Sienna. Short walk to Sovicille village centre with small supermarket etc. Sanitary facilities are good, clean & plentiful. Friendly & helpful staff. Wi-fi available. Recommended.
This is a nice little site despite having no real views of the lovely Tuscan countryside as it is surrounded by trees. The pitches are gravel and are shady and level. Water and electricity points are plentiful around the site. There are some static units near the top of the site but the majority are touring pitches. There is a very friendly bar and a shop but no restaurant facilities. However it is within walking distance (about 15 mins) of the restaurants in the small town of Sovicilli. The site is excellent for visiting Siena with a bus service that actually stops inside of the site. As motorhome parking at Siena costs 20 euros this is a big plus for the campsite. The toilets and showers were of a good standard and clean with loo paper supplied but no toilet seats. The cubicles though were quite small with strange fold back doors. There is no dry area in the shower cubicles and clothing is best kept dry outside the door but despite this the showers were hot and mostly worked well. The site was dog friendly with some good walks for our dog both inside and out. We found a real mix of nationalities staying here, Dutch, German, Danes, English, French, and Spanish. We would certainly stay again.
Large flat gravel pitches with plenty of tree cover. Not hilly. A bus to Sienna which departs from campsite. Quiet day and night with plenty of fire flies at night, in June.
