We stayed a week on this site but do not think it is luxury, although it is very good. It was clean, the sanitary facilities good (toilet paper, hair drier,no soap) large shower cubicles. Flat pitches, some clearly marked. We chose the part to the right as you enter, further from the shower block and restaurant, so quieter. The pool was not open but looked fine. The site is one of around 20 in a very small area. It has only 6 mobile home /bungalows to rent and is not crammed with semi permanent \"visitors\" and old dirty caravans, a plus we think, having seen some of the other sites in the area. Short walk to the beach and bus to Avenza Carrara Railway station. Bakery at most 100 yds from the site, and many small supermarkets and take away food within 10 mins walk. Bus tickets can be purchased from the tabbachi, cheaper than the street machines. There is a semi enclosed market type area on some days, where one of the shops sells everything imaginable required for camping and caravanning! The site were very welcoming, smiling and helpful, assisted in choosing a pitch, printed timetables for us etc and dealt very quickly with a couple of minor problems. Good location for visiting PiSA, La Spezia and the Cinque Terre by bus then train. The area itself is pretty scruffy, overflowing rubbish bins, no apparent recycling, which we now know is normal! The mouth of the road looks pretty tight if you follow the directions given, and we missed it on the first circuit, however it opens out very quickly into a wide thoroughfare
This is a comfortable campsite. The pitches are large, shaded and flat, you are guided to free pitches and you choose your own. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The toilet block is modern and spotlessly clean. The bar & restaurant are good, pool opens mid May. We found the site to be very quiet. Beach and local shops are a short walk away. Recommended.
Lovely campsite. Free WiFi if you are by the bar. Very helpful staff. Dog shower.
Best beaches are much nearer the up market resort of Forte dei Marmi.
