Travelling party: Couple

It\'s all about the beach here, a sweeping arc of white quartz sand with a glittering turquoise sea. This site is in a protected area with few buildings, but the beaches exert a powerful pull and get busy with locals, especially at the weekends. There are dirt tracks that run along the back of the beaches, with ample parking, and a couple of beachside restaurants. The campsite has direct beach access across a piece of scrubland. The site itself is a bit of a hybrid of pitch type and maintenance levels. There are open pitches at the back and shadier ones in the middle, and at the front with sea views, but some have low overhanging branches that can make access for bigger campers difficult. The two shower blocks are a mishmash of older and newer fittings and there\'s a general air of under investment, but they were kept clean and the showers were nice and hot. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. If you want a lovely beach, this is a good choice. For us, camping is often about the surroundings, not how fancy the shower block is!

The campsite is situated not far from Is Arustas beach which is nice, but unfortunately the campsite is itself not up to standard. The toilet shower blocks are very shabby and the general feeling is of lack of interest, we moved on after 2 nights as didn't enjoy our stay at all.

11/06/2013 - 15/06/13
Full payment demanded on arrival at site which was unkempt. In the toilet block nearest our tent 2 toilets in the ladies loo and 1 in the gents would not flush and were like this for a couple of days. No hot water for showers for 2 days. Complaints were made by several people but there seemed to be no urgency about fixing things. The other toilet block appeared to fare no better. We had to camp in the open as the only pitches which could be reached by electricity (not nearly enough outlets) were either too small or overgrown with low branches. No straw sunscreens as advertised. The morning rolls/bread did not appear before 08.30 and on one occasion still had not arrived when we left for our daily jaunt at 10.30. You may ask why we did not leave after the first night but we are pensioners and having payed up front for 4 days we stuck it out. To be fair a gardener was busy tidying up on our second last day.
