This was our second visit to Darna and we were Evan able to have the same pitch. We have a large motorhome so some pitches would be tight but we were fine. Good shaded pitches. Restaurant has good choice of dishes and is reasonably priced, but despite very pleasant staff the speed of service was poor. Our main frustration was the supposed 3amp electricity supply which tripped every time we tried to use our water boiler or very small wattage microwave. Reception are awRe of this but said ACSI only get 3amp.. however almost all pitches are this whether ACSI visitors or not. We have used 3amp on Aires without problems so suspect the system needs updating. We love the area and the site is perfect for trips to Lugano and Como. The local area is well supplied with supermarkets as well as the campsite shop and the little restaurant just up the road offers a wonderful set lunch.
Friendly and welcoming staff. ACSI pitches are away from the lake but are shaded and level with good access to electric points. Toilets and showers spotlessley clean and upto date. Pool area is clean and tidy. Food at the restaurant was really good. Camper douche facilities spot on too. Highly recommend. Will be back!
This site does not accept Acsi card after 23rd June despite 1st July being advertised so our stay cost us twice as much . . Also the noise at night was very loud from the neighbouring site until 11.30pm each night. The restaurant was satisfactory but they added service charge to the bill . We wouldn't return here
Nice site on the shore of lake Lugano, beautiful views of the lake and mountains, nice bar and restaurant area next to the pool which is also very nice, there is also a shop on site which stocks most of the essentials, showers and toilets are very clean as is the site on the whole. However as previously stated the pitches are close together and he road leaders to the pitches is also narrow, we have a 7 meter Motorhome and just fitted on our pitch, there are some large pitches on site but few and far between. The pitches directly facing onto the lake are not ACSI pitches, one last thing the electric supply is only 3 amp so will trip out very easy.
What a lovely site, receptionist speaks perfect English and a lovely smiling face, right by the lake and not far from the village good market on a Saturday best pitches are not available to ACSI but are right by the lake impressive views recommend this site
A very pleasant location on the lakeshore, with stunning views. Pitches are on the small side (not a problem for me, but people with larger tents or caravans might feel cramped). The only significant minus point was loud amplified music, both from the camp's own sound stage and (I presume) from one of the other camp-sites in the village, going on well after midnight. (I was there at a weekend; I suspect it may be quieter mid-week.)
Very nice and quite campsite. The lake is very beatiful and clean. Surroundings are interesting: Lugano and Suisse, Como's Lake and many mountains for walk. The campsite is very ordered and the management is ok. Many shadow and green. The price is OK. Very nice camp. :)
Mary and I stayed for 4 nights Sept. 13 (had to enter a 2014 date to place review as 2013 was not an option) . If we did not have a schedule to keep to we would have stayed much longer. The staff were excellent and the pitch superb. Right on the lakeside with the mountains rising up on either side. A breathtaking view. All was peaceful, tranquil and oohh so relaxing. Our route into Switzerland from Darna was easy with no waits/traffic queues at all.
A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the majesty of the area. Of the 9 campsite on our Alps tour this was tops.
