We came for a couple of days and stayed more than 2 weeks. everything about Ranocchio is superb. The beautiful position by the lake, the family owners, the welcome, the facilities and pool spotlessly clean, nothing was too much trouble and we ended up firm friends! Thank you Norris, Elisa, Chiara and Sophia. Can\'t wait to return!
Unsecured ACSI booking accepted. Staff very friendly and helpful. Stayed four nights as a base for Lake Como.Well defined adequately sized pitches. Although ACSI card not available on lakeside pitches, the second row is available. Toilets adequate but very dark. Swimming pool excellent. Restaurant next door was very good and reasonably priced. Would happily stay here again.
Situated on a lovely small lake and closest CC site to Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como. Good pitch size, toilets cleaned regularly and friendly, helpful staff.
We loved our stay here. A highlight for me is the hiking and walking that you can do so easily. The washrooms and showers are impeccable. The showers are really warm as well. The pitch we were on is very rocky so it was hard to put the metal pegs for our tent in the ground. Other than that at this time of year we had a lot of space to ourselves and it was nice and quiet. The staff here are so lovely and helpful. There are lots of trees on this campsite and it feels a lot more secluded because of this. Sometimes the motorcyclists and cars are quite loud at night but it wasn't too noticeable once we fell asleep.
A lovely site with spectacular views. 20 min delay at tunnel due to police check but otherwise journey great. Walked 15 mins to supermarket in pouring rain but thoroughly enjoyed visit which we extended to 2 nights.
Arrived at this site and stayed for a week. Warm friendly welcome. The road to this campsite is narrow, if you have a large unit be careful! A tunnel making the route easier does not feature on the 2014 map nor does it appear on the latest version of Tomtom(1/9/14). The pitches are of various sizes, so you may choose a bigger pitch but it may not be near to the lake. The 3 amp supply kept tripping out, one item at a time solved this. Some pitches have 6amp but may cost extra. The campsite is near to the bus route, although Maggiore is a nice walk following the cycle route, mainly down hill. Suggest you bus back. Recommend this site.
I can only echo the comments from the English couples review made in July. Very friendly, nice site, pitches and toilets. I was worried because they don't allow advance reservation bookings, but the site was no more that 60% full and it was the first week that the ACSI card could be used after the high season. We stayed in a tent so driving to the site was no problem, but I would not have liked to go with a caravan from Como, better to go via Switzerland. No shop on the campsite but a big suermarket is within easy walking distance. We used the on site restaurant which met all of our needs. Would stay again if in the area as you have easy acsess to both of the "big lakes".
This is a lovely friendly campsite in a beautiful part of Italy. The reception staff (family) are very friendly and helpful. The roads in this area are 'interesting' but TomTom Caravan gave us a good route around Lugano and through the new tunnel. I wouldn't recommend going via Como and Menagio. The last 100 yards from the main road to the campsite is quite narrow and downhill.
The site is on the small Lake Piano and between Lakes Lugano and Como. The surrounding area is beautiful and from Menagio there are boat links across Lake Como to Bellagio and other lovely towns.
