Campeggio molto ben gestito, personale cordialissimo. sarebbe tutto ok se non ci fosse una discoteca nelle vicinanze che allieta 3/4 notti a settimana fino alle 5 del mattino.
What can I say...this campsite did have space over a bank holiday when others didn\'t, but was it rammed. If you went for an early shower always cold despite pre payment. Warned of an adjoining late disco it wasn\'t late... it went on till 5 am from late the night before. Mauricio was the bright light guiding my motorhome into the pitch and ever helpful but pitches are in between a meccano framework holding up vines...bus right outside either way and enabled us to get to Genoa.
Not impressed. As other reviewer have said staff needed both passports immediately on arrival. Showers needed tokens or coins which reception had failed to mention. Not used. Charge for filling motorhome with water (never come across that before on ACSI site!) We used a tap and received dirty looks from other campers! Pool is on beach - 200m away and is sea water and costs to use it (empty when we were there despite high temperatures). Beach being regraded so like a building site. General area a bit grotty. Very disappointing. On the plus side, our 2 dogs were allowed despite ACSI book saying only 1 would be and there was lots of shade.
We had stayed at this campsite same period last year. But got a big shock, it was full of tatty caravans, tents cramped in, there wasn't space to walk between the so called pitches, a real fire hazard, rubbish piled up and bags overflowing, washing lines everywhere, it seemed like a refugee camp, we drove through the campsite as you do when you leave as it's one way, it was full and now NO DOGS ALLOWED, we wouldn't have stayed anyway. Avoid this campsite, Dreadful place, a health hazard, so we drove on into France
This was a difficult site to find as we had to take the central dual carriageway from the town and through a tunnel. The site was between the main road and a noisy railway line with a footpath under the line towards the sea and the private beach area. A lot of the pitches were covered with sun shelters but motorhomes were parked on a grassy area. The site plan showed three pitches on the area opposite our motorhome but we watched the owner shuffle 5 units onto the space making it very tight. The owners were friendly and the man spoke good English but the whole experience seemed money grabbing. The site had clean toilets but hot showers were charged at 50c and of the two showers during our stay, one gave no hot water and the other was barely luke warm and switched off after 2 minutes. The toilets had seats but no paper. There were very few water points on the site and people seemed to use the washing sinks for water. The motorhome filling tap was 2.50 euros. Electricity was only 3 amp and wouldn’t run our kettle. The shop was just about empty of stock in September but bread was available in the mornings. We found the surrounding area just a bit run down and dirty with litter strewn on the street between the railway tunnel and beach. The whole area seems run down and in recession with boarded up buildings. The beach was shingle but did have lovely views. We weren’t allowed our dog on the site beach but took him to the public beach further along. We found this site disappointing and would not return.
Closed for a 2 ½ hour lunch when we arrived and the access road was so steep we bent a stabiliser. They advertise bike hire, but when we enquired, the female receptionist said it was too difficult. Then, they demanded BOTH our passports even though the ACSI book states they accept the ACSI ID card. My wife asked the unhelpful receptionist which showers were open but he neglected to tell her it needed a 50c coin. Then her shower flooded. The second time she took a shower, the water stopped flowing before it got hot. Continental toilets everywhere but only one bowl and no paper! The pool is at a hotel 300m away and it's pay – much like the fitness room. The camp advertises that it's by the beach – but it's a 300m walk. The main area of pitches have very narrow access. There is a noisy train line only mtrs from the pitches and dogs barked all night. 3amp electricity, smoke pouring in from neighbouring fires, intrusive noise from the road outside. We left upset. Staff disinterested.
Good sized pitches for larger motorhomes, lots of permanents (or long stay summer pitches), plenty of shade. 50 cents for a shower and for water to top up motorhome (unusual first site we have paid to fill the van). Downside between busy road, railway line and bars with music till 4am. Planned to stay a couple of nights but sleep was more important!
