Basically not a site for British, Reception are not friendly referred to us as the English. The supermarket answered English in German. The restaurant half way through Serbia our meals ( one meal out the two ordered for two people) served the five tables reserved for Germans ( the best sea views) taking their orders serving their starters and main courses before finishing our order and never brought drinks ordered they was surprised when we complained. When we decided enough was enough we checked out of site and they would not accept any card payment insisting on cash. WiFi very limited and only for short periods of time.
We are a mature couple, travelling with a dog & small tent. We only intended to stay 3/4 nights here, but ended up staying 3 weeks. The campsite is layed out in tiers, giving a feeling of space & privacy. On arrival we were shown around the available pitches & consideration was given to providing shade for the dog. We were then allowed to choose a pitch. The facilities are very good for people in tents, providing fridges & freezers, gas rings & a bbq. There is a small shop on site which is always open & the restaurant is excellent. Added to this the staff are friendly & helpfull.
Being a family with two children (6 and 4) we travelled from Ioannina (NW Greece) to visit Camping Sikia, for the first time, from July 28 to August 4, 2015.
The experience was, overall, fantastic. Great facilities and services, spotlessly clean toilets, top price/quality, very good pitch and shaded camp places, playful and calm sea suitable for little children, but most importantly, excellent hospitality, real family atmosphere, friendliness and ready to help staff.
Camping Sikia is ideally located for visiting the Mount Pelion area, a place of unique beauty.
Hopefully this visit will be repeated in 2016!
We loved this campsite. We had a great site very close to the sea, taverna and mini market. Taverna and mini market both had a good selection of food, and there was no need to venture further for food. Only downside was it was quite a trek to the shower block, and up 50 steps!! The beach is narrow but the sea is lovely with hardly any sea urchins. Staff were v welcoming. There were plenty of kids and they all seemed to be having a great time.
Best choice in continental Greece. Perfect for relaxing week with friends or family.
Plus: nice terraced camping places with view on the sea. Camping places are shadowed by olive trees and added shadowing nets - very useful.
Toilets are clean. You can use for free also refridgerator to keep your beer or watermelone cold.
Sandy beach is clean and sea surface is calm due to location in the gulf - perfect for swimming and for children.
Minus: Long distance to main greek ancient attractions as Delphi, epidauros or Athens. One day to Delphi or Athens is possible but you have to count with very early morning wake up and night return. No water sports or disco available in the camp.
Overall comment: at beginning of July the camp was only half-full, so we had enough place and privacy on the camping ground. We have seen about 10 campings in Olimpic riviera, Pilios and Pelopones and this one was the best. And also cheapest, what is curiously, because best service.
Very very nice and artistic. One of the best choices for continental Greece. If you are a good quality traveler, do not hesitate to choose this camp.
Camping Sikia is a wonderful camping. The places have a lot of space and a lot of them a beautiful seasight. Surrounded with olives, grapes and palmtrees. Very nice staff, people and atmosphere, great swimming. This is a great place to stay!
