Not given a plot with lake view by staff, so disappointed to find caravans in front of us when so many plots were empty.
Restaurant put camp guests on one side and public guests on other so could not sit in sun early evening - odd! No view of lake as trees block it, rules dictate they must stand there: shame.
Good stop off close to autobahn however and worthwhile, but staff could do more to make moho stopovers better re positioning on site

Whilst this was a lovely campsite and location we found the reception staff to be unwelcoming, verging on hostile as did others checking in at the same time. We had never come across such a poor reception before and have used ACSI sites in several European countries.

Keep an eye on electricity our acsi discount price jumped as we had gone over the 4kw, reception response was, did you heat your water, err yes and had the TV on.

Very slow officious check in and rather stern staff. Far more bumps in the road than necessary to slow down the traffic. Showers have to be paid for and they don't necessarily work! Toilets are clean and there are several blocks. It's in an idyllic location on the lake -lots of watersports. The bar and restaurant looked very good though we didn't use it. The steps are very steep in places. In August it was the most expensive site we stopped at - definitely not worth it for a 6pm to 9am stop. Probably wouldn't visit again, but if you're into watersports, you might have a great time.

This is a wonderful site and location and we would visit again without question. We spent a weekend there on our way south and liked it so much that we spent a further 5 days there on our way back north to Amsterdam. It is only minutes away from the motorway junction at Mendig and only 15 minutes drive from the Rhine at Andernach. Forest walks are all around and Maria Laach is only 20 mins walk along the edge of the lake. The site itself has spacious really beautifully maintained pitches arranged along the edge of the the lake which is great for swimming and watersports - the better pitches are NOT available at ACSI rates unfortunately. The site restaurant is excellent and it closes at 20.30 so there is no possibility of disturbance. The toilet/shower block is immaculately clean. Bread and other necessities are available in site. Entry times are slightly restricting and some complain about the rules surrounding this but the site is so good that this becomes irrelevant. EXCELLENT.

A lovely site in a lovely area. One member of staff is a bit off-hand, but everyone is nice. The toilet and showers are very good and very clean. There is very small shop, but in June it is only open on a Friday and Saturday for a few hours. All the pitches are full service, but ours was a bit sparse. Overall Laacher See is a really nice site and worth visiting. We stayed for 13 nights and would visit again if the area.

Beautiful site on the lake.Beware lovely pitches are available but not to ACSI customers.Site we had was dreadful could not use our awning.
Paid our bill at 9am electric cut off immediately although we paid for two nights however so very disappointed that we were then unable to have breakfast. So don't pay till ready to leave.
Beautiful site too many rules.
