we loved this site. can\'t really rate food and drink as didn\'t eat there...big play area outside restaurant and huge amount of cycling and walking possibilities. Wi-Fi incredible..best reception we\'ve ever known. being a bit lazy we opted to pay extra for comfort pitch.. we assumed wrongly that this included more electric! but it was chilly at night and we kept cosy!! incredibly clean and warm showers...didn\'t want to get out! used for cycling. and easy drive to Rothenburg..lovely open aspect to site ...birdsong only distraction! Stayed three nights on our journey..would definitely stay again and highly recommend if you like peace and quiet.
Beautiful peaceful campsite in meadowland. Excellent food from the on site bar/restaurant. Staff very friendly and facilities immaculately clean. Easy driving to Rothenburg and Wurzburg. Large pitches.Dissapointed with the extra electric, they monitor it remotely, suggest you take your own reading on arrival from the service tower on pitch or ask for the current reading at reception. Other than that the best site in a five week holiday.
A beautiful campsite in open country. Stunning toilets equal to any Caravanclub UK toilets. Site run by a family - the father spoke little English but his daughter excellent English and very very helpful. Do not take credit cards. Great walking and cycling in the area. Rained heavily while we were there our friends got stuck in the mud but the site owner got a local tractor and pulled him out in less than 20 minutes. Great location for visiting the north end of the Romantic road
Only complaint is internet only at reception and very slow - otherwise a great site in a good location
We arrived by chance at this site as the Oktoberfest weekend was beginning. Despite being full, and we being the only non German visitors the owner and his family made us most welcome. We were invited to share in all the festivities and experience a traditional celebration weekend. We had drinks and snacks as well as some magnificent home made cake in the restaurant. The owner's daughter went out of her way to answer any questions we had about the site, culture or locality and was extremely helpful. In 5 years of travelling this was the best welcome we have ever had at any site. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. We would definitely visit again- if only for the cakes!
We made overnight stops on our way to and coming back from Austria, originally we only planned to stay going out, but we were so pleased with our choice we also stayed on our return journey. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly as we cannot pretend to speak German. The site is very pleasant and peaceful being in open countryside. Food in their restaurant was excellent value and facilities modern and well looked after.
With many small villages in the area it looked as if it could be an interesting place to stay longer, unfortunately our plans had already been made, ferries and so on, so we had to be content with a local stroll!
on arrival a most jovial and warm welcome,
the pitch was excellent with super views of countryside,
all amenties ,showers / laundry / toilets, are all very good,
this site has a good bar restaurant with fresh food prepared daily. WONDERFUL cakes and gateau home made by fr Scherer. We intended only an overnight stop but stayed a week, with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.
This is a real gem of a site we will return.
Whilst we enjoyed our stay, we were surprised to learn that we had to pay extra for electricity as the lady said as we were only covered for 4 amps with ACSI. It was hot so we did not use a fire nor television so do not know how they calculate over 5 days. Never happened on any other ACSI site and you are not warned. So beware if you visit for any length of time or in winter!
