A family run site which is a bit different. It has the free use of the local park and very large swimming pool. There is also free use of the local trains to Friieburg or even Basel. Great base for runs into the Black Forrest.
The staff are friendly but a bit strict however \'put caravan here, not there\'. Toilets blocks need refurbishment, middle one the best.I found. Office and gate closed 12.30 to 1500 hrs. Which was a bit of a bad start as we arrived at 12.40hrs in scorching heat. The local village of Staufen is lovely.and worth the walk down by the river.
This is a beautiful site, however the guys that work here seem to be very strict on everything from where/how you pitch your set up, and on arrival don\'t give you any information about the site (i.e. where the waste disposal/water/washrooms etc are.
We felt like \'big brother\' was watching us the few nights we stayed there. A bit of an odd atmosphere really. Won\'t go back.
The website doesn't mention the close proximity of a train line. The first train went past at 5.45 a.m., shook our tent and woke the kids.
When arrived I was a bit concerned about the guy taking my van ( twin axle bailey ) on a very little tractor, I needn't ave cos he manovered it, I have to say better than me, an I've been towin and truck driving for 18 years, but the site, well very clean very friendly! And the kids love it! There is a lot to do out and around too. I would thoroughly recommend it too any one coming too the south of germany!
A great relaxing site. After reading reviews we were a bit concerned as to what our pitch would be like but we needn't have worried. We easily fitted our 23 foot caravan plus extra wide wide awning and our car on our pitch. If booking direct with site be honest with your measurements as some pitches did look smaller than others. Toilets were clean and the family shower rooms were appreciated. The indoor pool was great for us as our toddler is learning to swim and on several occasions we had the pool all to ourselves. Luckily she loved wearing a swimhat! The nearby outdoor pool is also fantastic. Take away food is basic but good with generous portions. Child play area appears a bit neglected. There's a slide on the site and a larger play area belonging to the site across the river but it was a bit dark and gloomy and not very welcoming. Staff friendly. Reception would perhaps benefit from having more staff during peak times. Overall a great site we would happily return to.
