A charming site on the banks of the Necker. watch the steep steps up to the main washing facitities. Plenty to see and do with Heidelberg within easy reach

We had a very warm welcome from the father and son team running the site. We asked for a pitch in the shade (it was very hot - peak of the 2019 European heat wave!) and were given a site right in the middle of everything BUT well shaded as requested. The facilities were good, the bar and snack food was great (the best flammküchen we had all trip!). We cycled into Heidelberg and took a look at the castle - it was very busy - I counted 5 coach loads of people going in as we had our ice cream. We only stayed one night - which was a shame as it was a lovely site.

Booked this site as a stopover for two nights. Arrived just after 14:00 but couldn’t get access until 15:00
We were allocated a pitch alongside the river which was very pleasant. The toilet/washroom facilities were clean but a bit outdated. Staff were friendly and the owners son was particularly helpful and informative.
We did have a meal on site however were a bit disappointed with the choice of a very restrictive menu due to the fact that it was “so hot and the kitchen didn’t have any fans” however the following evening a full menu was available yet the weather had remained the same. It just seemed that when we wanted to eat and there weren’t so many dining that night the chef/cook couldn’t be bothered. It is a very good site to stay at if you are visiting Heidelberg.
Apart from the dining experience the site is a good place to stay

only stayed 2 nights for a trip into the city. didn\'t use any of the facilities and don\'t have kids so can\'t comment (app wound let me leave a review without staring them). although dogs are accepted here, they are not welcome. bit of a walk to the station, but lovely location by the river

Lovely location at side of River Neckar. Noisy near bridge. Easy walk into Neckargemund with public transport links to Heidleberg Friendly English-speaking owner. Electric is metered.

Nice site along the banks of the river Neckar. Reasonably sized, flat pitches but rather open. Toilet facilities adequate, the more modern ones being in the block behind the shop, but all had many steep steps up. Good access to Heidelberg.

This campsite is very poor compared to other similarly rated German campsites we have visited. Has a good view of the River Nechar, but also suffers from road noise and river noise -juggernaut barges. It is a small site, so the pitches are generally small. Worst of all are the poor quality, cramped showers which are reached by steep concrete steps. The campsite bar was not used, but did not look at all appealing.

Beautifully maintained site. Owner doesn\'t allow groundsheets so all the grass is in good order. Very level pitches..An extra if you want to be closest to the river..but even further back on standard pitch gives you a decent view. Owner allocates the pitch but allows plenty of room between motorhomes/ caravans. Bus stop on main road No 35 into Heidelberg about 300 Mrs.. but we took the boat..quite expensive but was a lovely way to get into the city...10.am in ( takes an hour because of 2 locks) and last boat back at 16.00...gave us enough time to get the funicular to the castle, have lunch and wander in town. Would happily stay here again. Steepish access road in and out but no problem for our 8+mt, 5ton motorhome.

We chose this site because of its proximity to Heidelberg which we visited by boat from the nearby village of Neckargemund. There is also a bus service there.

Our stay was for 2 nights and we judged the site to be very pleasant and the facilities more than adequate. Our pitch was by the riverside and tranquil with occasional river traffic which added to our enjoyment.
We had a pleasant evening meal in the bistro which seemed very popular. The staff made us welcome and we had a great stay.

Stayed here sept 2017. There were major roadworks which prevented us from accessing the site but after long detour managed to find a way in. Pitch sizes are good with attractive riverside pitches if you're lucky. Toilet blocks clean but old and both blocks accessed by steep flights of steps. There was a cafe on site which we didn't use but not impressed by the look if it. Staff quite helpful. Got the train into Heidelberg and visited the castle which was worthwhile.
