Stayed here sept 2017. There were major roadworks which prevented us from accessing the site but after long detour managed to find a way in. Pitch sizes are good with attractive riverside pitches if you\'re lucky. Toilet blocks clean but old and both blocks accessed by steep flights of steps. There was a cafe on site which we didn\'t use but not impressed by the look if it. Staff quite helpful. Got the train into Heidelberg and visited the castle which was worthwhile.
Lovely well maintained site in a nice location on the banks of the Neckar river. Ideal for walking into the village and also the boat for a trip along the river into Heidelberg. Staff very friendly and helpful. Limited showers with private changing area, although all well maintained.
Nice site with helpful and friendly staff. Next to the river so maybe caution if with young children. Cafe on site is good and they have a small shop. Not too far from Heidelberg. We got both shade and an electric hookup for out tent. Toilet facilities were very good and clean. Recommended.
Great site very clean and tidy, very friendly staff.
Local town is a short walk and Heidelberg is great!
Riverside pitches a bonus! But extra!
Nice situation and friendly staff, no shade and the toilet facilities could be a lot better. For visiting Heidelberg it was great but sincerely i have seen better campings for the price.
It was the first time i was asked if i want to pay more for a \'better placement\'... Its really a campingcar park i saw no tents.
Excellent location with the option of a bus or boat journey into Heidelberg.
Toilet facilities are excellent and very clean, although at the top of two flights of steps. Very helpful staff who speak English and will take a booking in advance by phone.
Suggest arriving early due to a queue at the barrier prior to the afternoon opening at 1500.
Pitch sizes are acceptable although not generous, and all flat.
Received a warm welcome at this lovely site situated beside the River Neckar. Don't arrive between 1pm-3pm as the barrier is down and you won't get in. We opted for a riverside pitch at small extra cost which was well worth it. Facilities are very good and always clean. Showers cost 75 cents for 5 mins. Wifi excellent value at 10 Euros for week. Beautiful area with many nearby towns/villages within easy reach of the site. Also find the walk that leads to the shelter you can just see the roof off from the site, it is over the bridge, right, 2nd left and up to top of hill where you will find parking area and walk through forest. Nice walk and the views are very rewarding. Get walking map from Tourist Info. Centre in town. Restaurant on site but we didn't use it but locals do so must be good! Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.
Slightly difficult access off main road as you think it's just a path and campsite signs are a bit faded. That said the location is good. Showers need token (free daily and need to ask at reception). Only 2 privacy cubicles so need to forget british reserve and prudishness when getting changed. Didn't use restaurant facilities. Good bus service into Heidelberg with all day use.
Flat site beside river, no shade, no marked pitches. 16 amp hook-up, metered. With ACSI card, 5kwh per day allowed, then 75 cents per kwh. Boxes locked so you cannot monitor your useage. Extra charge for riverside pitch. Some seasonal/permanent vans. Café.
Main toilet block and dishwashing centrally positioned but up many steps. Good standard. Tokens required for showers, we were given only one token per day (not one per person per day). Disabled toilet, laundry and chemical toilet disposal only behind café at entrance. Good MH service point in front of toilet block, this seemed to be the only place to dispose of waste water.
Access roads are fairly narrow, steep, and one-way, so follow the camp-site signs carefully. OK for larger vans with care. Fairly close to town, railway station etc. English spoken.
Credit Cards NOT accepted.
Access to this site can be a little confusing from a busy main thoroughfare and the usual barrier in position as the owner takes his fixed lunchbreak. The site itself is very picturesque and is relaxingly entertaining to see the large boats float passed on the river Neckar. It does cost extra to pitch next to the river. Information provided was totally inadequate, but there is a Tourist Office in the town, so information on buses and trains are available. The bus in to Heidelberg is strongly recommended. Some travel in by car, but parking etc is really not worth the hassel. Supermarkets are close, by car. The paths along the river are friendly for bikes and are well recommended. Mastercard not accepted-paid cash.
