Not a great start as receptionist was quite abrupt and disinterested. WiFi had to be paid for. We were told where to pitch-no choice. Very small pitches our m/home is 6mtrs. Difficult entrance and exit for larger units due to placing of column for key fob security barrier. Hot water in shower but cold for washing up and laundry. Very noisy during the day but better at night. Planned to stay two nights but left after one.
Not a pleasant experience from the start. Receptionist managed to avoid eye contact throughout and allocated pitch despite there being several empty. Woods mentioned are totally inaccessible and site is on a busy and noisy main road before the rather grubby Seine. Block containing washing m/c was closed. Toilets clean but no seats and one doubled as chemical disposal. On the positive side the ACSI card gave a good discount and the village is walkable along the cycle path and worth a visit. Overall however it is certainly not \\\'a quiet and beautiful site\\\' and we would not stay there again.
Only 6 hard standing pitches for motorhomes. Can’t agree with the description that it’s quiet, like sitting next to a motorway. View across the river is pleasant but that’s the only redeeming feature.
Thank God we’re only here for one night
Beautiful setting on the Seine, however if you don’t like noise it’s not for you as there is traffic and shipping throughout most of the day and evening. The woman indicated that we should take one of the gravel pitches as they were longer, our motorhome only just fitted in length ways and we are 7m, they also charged for our little trailer which we carry our bicycles in, and we’ve never been charged for this before (we detach it and put next to our van so all on one pitch!) so this bumped the price up for 2 nights.
The amenities indicate that there is WiFi but you have to pay for it if required, we didn’t use the pool, but it did look first class with a nice bar restaurant area alongside, again we didn’t use it as it was closed when we stayed. Showers and toilets are clean, but only 2 showers and one toilet in each block, nice hot showers but lukewarm for dishwashing, not a problem when we stayed but might get busy in the summer.
Main reason we would not return was the rudeness of the staff, I speak enough French to understand what the woman in reception said but she had a very cold attitude, spoke at speed knowing I was English and not at all welcoming, the man interrupted our evening meal without an apology saying we had parked in the wrong pitch and he needed to exchange the barrier key, at the time there was no one else that had come in nor later that night so it could have waited until the morning in my opinion, (we hadn’t noticed the number on the fob at the time and as we didn’t intend on taking the van out just hung it up.)
I have rated all facilities as 1 star.
The reason for this is that the site was closed for the winter when we arrived (not pre-booked).
We checked out this site on the internet and it stated they were open until 13th October. When we arrived at the site their information board said the same. despite emailing and phoning there was no notification of the closure.
Fantastic locAtion but terrible customer service.
In lovely position, literally on banks of Seine, wooded area along edge of site with beautiful bird sounds. On the down side road which runs along outside is very busy & quite noisy & especially early morning with work commuters. Very long grass on our pitch which was situated just next to small sanitation block with outside urinals; not ideal! There is another sanitation block further along. No hot water for washing pots, which isn't much use for greasy plates. The site is quite unkempt
We stayed at this site for one night on our way back to Calais. Whilst it has an enviable position overlooking the Seine the road outside is very noisy and we did not get much sleep. The toilet facilities were woefully inadequate having just one sit down toilet, two showers and one of those ridiculous stand up holes in the ground which I would not dream of using which also doubled as a chemical disposal point. The "receptionist" would have cracked her face if she smiled or even said "bonjour" and refused even a single word of English. As already stated I nearly clobbered my caravan trying to get into the site entrance due to the barrier post in the middle of the road. Will definitely not be staying there again!
On a busy noisy main road, no access to woods as stated. Not a nice safe walk to the town along the dirty working river.
The site is well located by the side of the Seine, however…… The road right outside gets busy and is very noisy. The facilities are clean but poorly laid out. Blocks are mixed such that a lady can easily walk in on a man at a urinal with no barrier. For a site which is charging €16 a night there is no toilet paper, no pool, no hot water at any of the sinks, and rather small pitches. The previous comment about the entrance is very true. We had trouble getting in with our (nearly 8m) tourer because the security barrier control is mounted on a pillar right in the middle of the road. The staff (particularly ‘Madam’) could use a customer care course. She staunchly refuses to speak a single word of English, no matter what. Although she is not overtly rude, she is quite curt and unsmiling. We won’t be returning.
A site that offers stunning views of the water traffic on the Seine. There is a main road just outside the site but we did not find it a problem. We had intended only to stay one night on our journey but decided to stay for two.
