We stayed for one night in early October on our way across France. The site is currently undergoing renovation so one half was shut off. That meant the other half was packed with caravans and motor homes parked anywhere and everywhere. The pitches need a lot of work as do the washing facilities. They are really “ tired” and located far away from many of the pitches. At reception you are given a map of the site but it fails to point out the most important features like rubbish disposal, dish washing facilities and toilets and showers.
At night the camp is badly lit as some of the lights are not working. We couldn’t wait to leave and will not be returning.
We have stayed here 3 time and have been very satisfied with the service. Pitches on gravel and individually separated by hedges and trees. Most are well shaded. Facilities are very clean and well maintained. Regular bus service to Lyon a short walk from the entrance. Outstanding city to visit.
On the positive side this site is open all year and only just off the motorway. It also has a heated washroom. Sadly this site has suffered with under investment for some years. There is a complex barrier system that requires a code to enter AND leave. The entry key pad is before the new arrival park so you have to back up to operate it. We were given a wrong code so ended up tailgating in and out on our 24hr stay! You receive an A3 colour plan of the site with information about the surroundings which is really unnecessary (and costly) for over nighters. In March only the main washroom was open. This was in a poor state, ceiling coverings hanging down, lights not working, clothes hooks missing, shower heads blocked, but as stated earlier it was warm with plenty of hot water - a pity there has been little or no maintenance. The pitches consist of compacted earth without the usual gravel covering - even with little rain before our visit mud was a real problem. Most pitches have water and drain, however our drain was blocked with leaves which along with overgrown hedges and trees again points to little or no maintenance. The site claims to have dishwashing facilities but we couldn\'t find them - perhaps they were in the facilities that were not open. This is a top price ACSI site that doesn\'t deliver.
Great site for visiting Lyon. The staff were very professional and helpful, despite being very busy. The pitches vary in size a bit and have varying slopes. Worth driving round and finding one that suits. WC/shower facilities were ok but need a bit of a tidy and the shower I used (at the end of the run) had very poor flow and needed some maintenance, but my husband said the gents was fine. No food was available on Sunday but we were directed to a restaurant just outside the site. Bus stop to Lyon just outside site.
We stopped over here on St David's day. Despite being so early in the season (March 1st) the welcome was professional, and the site well organised. We arrived at rush hour, the traffic was heavy and tempers in the van got a bit heated as instructions were tricky to follow even with a sat nav! The weather however was dreary and we moved on without seeing Lyon. Toilets and showers great.
Busy place! Don't arrive in the evening rush hour or you'll think you're driving through London! Awful traffic, but it is a busy city.
Not a fan of this site personally, pitches were poor but the showers were great. Stayed one night, and that was plenty.
