As a 1 night stopover this was just OK. Pitches were uneven and rather untidy, Sanitaire OK and reasonably clean. This does not feel like a holiday site as there were single men staying and a works van next to a tent. Staff very friendly.
Marked swimming pool and food and drink as 1 as neither were available in September.
Vizille itself has a wonderful castle and gardens - free entry - and a selection of good supermarkets.

We stayed overnight here en route South not expecting much. The site itself is nice and shady which I like. All pitches slope, some considerably more than others.
We walked into the town centre for a beer and we were completely blown away by the fantastic chateau and gardens. The chateau has a museum to the French Revolution and was Free as were the beautiful gardens. Well worth the visit

Excellent site within walking distance of the Chateau in one direction and a good supermarket in the other. Vizille itself is pretty ordinary but the Chateau and museum must be seen. Campsite facilities are excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Arrived at this site with high expectations given the good reviews. However, at the end of September it had a very run down uncared for feel with untidy grass and no facilities open. Having said that the one sanitary that was open was fine with very hot water. We had intended to stay three nights and explore Grenoble, but decided to move on instead.

Quiet. Large pitches. Hot showers! Good facilities in the sanitaires. Recommend for out of season. Do not use sat nav to find the site - look for signs at roundabouts and follow them.

Good site, easy access.
Pros:- Easy, reasonably level walk into town and magnificent, interesting and free chateau and grounds only 1 km away. Excellent drives into the alps, we enjoyed the drive up the popular cycle route to Alp Huez. We would have stayed longer than the couple of days, but the better weather further south was calling.
Cons:- The only fault we could find was from the four workmen who hired the chalet behind our tent on the second night. They laughed, sang and talked loudly until quite late in the evening, possibly a one off?

Stayed 4 nights, flat pitches & clean facilities, with toilet paper provided. Used pool several times, pool and area were spotless. there's a small bar & restaurant with free wi-fi near reception. Helpful staff. Flat cycle ride into Grenoble, but the museum in the Bastille is closed on a Monday. The Museum in Vizille is closed Tuesdays. the blurb in ACSI book is incorrect, as all pitches had electricity.

Site in Vizille, a cheap bus journey from Grenoble (cable car worth a visit) We did have one spell of 24 hrs of rain in May but the temperature recovered and site dried up quickly. The site is clean with relatively large pitches and easy access. Friendly helpful owners and a short walk from the town with all amenities and the chateau where the French Revolution started (we weren't able to but gardens especially worth a visit, we were told). Not busy when we were there. Enjoyed this site.
