Wonderful campsite with fantastic views and owned by a really nice and helpful family. The facilities are excellent with a new toilet block with wonderful showers, washing-up areas and washing machines. All beautifully cleaned every day. We had a very nice meal one evening and they arranged a wine tasting another night. We only planned to stay one night, but stayed for four nights, because it was so nice.
The roads in the area are quite narrow, but we managed with a 7.0 x 2.4 x 3m motorhome without any problems. We did however, with help from the owner, hire a little car for a few days, to be able to drive around in the alps, where some of the roads were very steep and narrow. Well worth doing.
We came to this campsite for 1 night and stayed for 4. Some, but not all of the generous pitches have outstanding views of either the local hilltop village, or the mountains. You will require leveling blocks on most pitches. Upon arrival we were presented with a book of tours of the Drome Valley, some of which we were able to experience and enjoy, well worth doing. The family could not have been more helpful and friendly. We participated in a communal meal one evening which was very enjoyable and delicious. The sanitary facilities are outstanding, slightly let down by the chemical toilet facility, which was somewhat inconvenient. One place not to be missed is a restaurant in Vassieux-en-Varcors, where there is an amazing exhibition of The little World of ‘Santons de Provence’, a private and partly animated collection of around 1000 traditional Provence figurines depicting rural Provençal life.
All in all, one of our top campsites and we will return.
We were very happy here. Our camping pitch had a magnificent view of the Vercors. The owners were very helpful and keen to see us make the most of our stay in the area. In the office they will print off tourist information from the internet or help with bookings online. It\'s easy to order bread for the morning with a system of order slips placed in a letter box. The sanitaires are brand new and beautifully finished and the owners put a lot of effort into maintaining the site.
This camp site is new to ACSI in 2018 and we were hesitant to go here because there were no reviews (yet). However, we found this a very pleasant place to stay! The site is run by 2 generations of a family from Luxembourg and together they run the site as as a well oiled machine. The reception was very friendly and they helped us choose a pitch (many of them very large with lots of privacy and shade). However, many pitches are not flat so you may need to experiment a bit to get your caravan/camper in the right position. Luckily the camp site owners have a tractor if your caravan mover can’t cope.
The site is undergoing significant refurbishment/upgrading at the moment and we were happy to use a second new toilet building which had just been completed before we arrived. All state of the art equipment although we would have a liked the water to be a few degrees warmer.
One of the best things to do is join a dinner prepared by the matron: an aperitif, 2 course dinner, and cheese as desert at an attractive price. Good opportunity to meet other cultures and learn some ‘Luxembourgisch’.
On the downside I can mention there is TGV viaduct at a distance of about 1.5-2 km which produces some noise but not too bad. Also there are 4 or 5 dogs of the owners freely roaming about. This can be a bit of a nuisance if you have your own dog permanently on a leash.
All in all we really enjoyed the stay here.
