Beautiful site lovely people running the site.
The pitches are quite large and private with hedges and trees.
The river is a delight.
The site goes very quiet at 10pm
There is some road noise especially in the morning.
I would recommend this site and will revisit if in the area.
Hello, Thank you for your review. We are very glad to know that you have spent a good time with us. See you an other time. Best regards Maryline & Didier
Wonderful campsite, very clean sanitary block with temperature controlled showers that are cleaned at least 3 times a day. Great location for cycling and walking is a bit demanding. Cycle path on the Rhône only 2 km away. Supermarket and town only 2km away. Owners are very helpful and friendly. Still our favourite site in France.
Dear guest, thank you for your excellent review on our camping Le Castelet. We\'re glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to seeing you again. Maryline & Didier
Lovely campsite in a peaceful location. Made even better by the lovely husband and wife team who run it. Good location for cycling along the Rhone. Steam train runs along the back, didn\\\'t take a trip on it but will next time we visit.
We wish to thank you so very much for your kind words and appreciation - it was a pleasure to welcome you, thank you for having chosen our campsite during your trip in Ardeche. We hope that you will be back. Greetings from Maryline and Didier
We stayed here planning 3 and stayed 5; lovely situation overlooking river and excellent facilities. Welcoming hosts, good sized mostly level pitches with everything easy and well thought out. Need to stock up before arrival though nearest supermarket is about 3k and Tournos centre about 4K. 400m to little train, if going up to Lamarche recommend pre-book restaurant there and go in straight away as otherwise you may miss last course to catch train back at 1445. Would stay again, as lovely site.
Hello, thanks so much for leaving such positive feedback! We hope to see you again at Le Castelet. Best regards Maryilne & Didier
We have just left Camping Castelet and it was an absolute pleasure. A family run (3rd generation) site. Immaculate, picturesque setting, very friendly and helpful owners including their children (getting involved ready for the fourth generation!). An added bonus was the miniature steam railway within easy walking distance for various trips through the gorges and further afield. Wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. A great find and highly recommended.
We would like to thank you very sincerely for your very kind words addressed to the whole team of the camping. We are truly glad to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you were sensible to each moment you have spent in our camping. Wishing you a nice end of summer, Kind regards, Maryline and Didier
Our third visit to this site, staff as always very helpful, always got the customer in mind. Toilets an showers always kept clean, no matter what time of day.
Plenty to do in the area if you wanted to make it a longer stay..
We stayed here in our caravan for three nights on our way south in June. We enjoyed everything about this site. It is being run and developed with energy by caring and helpful owners who made our stay a pleasure. We parked outside, booked in, and then walked to choose our pitch – you should do the same: don’t park across the train line expecting to be admitted straight away! Our pitch was flat, grassy, well-separated from others and offered a good balance of sun and shade. It also overlooked the river. Toilets and washing facilities were modern and well-kept. The bar area was welcoming and tempting: we had a beer there some evenings, and used the free wifi. We didn’t use the pool during our stay. We ordered baguettes and croissants each morning. We visited Tournon and other Rhone towns, and we also drove out into the hills further afield – all lovely. I asked at reception about local walks and was given a laminated sheet with a map for a 6km circular walk into the nearby hills. It was a real treat, and shows the thought that is being put in to making this site a success. We really enjoyed our short stay here.
