We stayed here as a stop-over on our way south. As we haven\'t used all the facilities we can\'t comment on evrything.
The pitch we could chose ourselves was adequate with as much shade we could get. It was very hot at the time. The opportunity to use the lake is a big bonus. Unfortunately there is quite some noise from a nearby running trainline. The restaurant is more a takeaway style in a tent like building. Toilets and showers were clean and ok.
Nice and helpful staff at reception. With the help of reception we even managed to get a walk in during our 2 night stay.
Perfectly fine place for stop-overs.

We arrived on site with a bitterly cold wind which didn\'t make a good first impression and it was the first day of opening so the toilet block was half closed while it was being cleaned. The staff were very friendly and we cannot comment on some of the facilities as the site wasn\'t fully operational. The most annoying thing was the noise and frequency of the trains on a line which was not far away. On a sunnier day a swim in the lake would have been pleasant but not a lot going for it.

Spent one night here in September. Never again! The noise from the nearby railway line was almost continuous and so loud it sounded like jet planes taking off; we could have been camped on the main run way at Gatwick airport! Shame because without the awful noise it would have been a very pleasant site for a night halt.

Stayed one night en route to the Med. A very spacious site with large pitches. Very friendly welcome from a native of Walsall!! The weather was not too good but we could see that the lake and beach would be brilliant on a hot and sunny day. Worth more than an overnight stay.
