We were given a lovely large shady pitch quite close to a small toilet block. The main block seemed to be quite a distance away from most of the pitches.
We received a very friendly and helpful welcome and were given a really good brochure of the area which helped us to choose some places to visit. We really appreciated this.
There are many stunning places to visit close by so we were pleased with our stay at Campsite Fontisson.
The site was very quiet when we visited in mid-April. We almost had the place to ourselves so there was a big choice of pitches. About half are medium sized with shade and the other half are large without shade.
It is a rural location but walkable to the village where there are a couple of small shops and a very good Italian restaurant. There are supermarkets within about 10 minutes drive. There were some nice cycle routes nearby - you get maps from the tourist office in Le Thor. It is very handy for Avignon and western Provence. Recommend Mt Ventoux and L\'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for visits.
It was early season so many of the site facilities were not open e.g. pool and bar. The staff were working hard to prepare them for high season when they should be excellent. It can be expected to be very busy then. The toilets were clean - seats and paper provided.

We stayed here in our caravan for four nights in June. While we were here we toured Provence and visited Avignon. The site was very quiet and almost completely empty. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to choose a pitch to suit us. We chose a huge, flat pitch with good shade. The washing and toilet facilities were in good order and were very well kept. The site suited us very well – we were out touring all day, every day, and we enjoyed coming back to the peace of the site. We collected bread and croissants every morning from reception. Very easy touring of Provence from here, and Avignon is very near. The local village is a bit of an oddity, though – we couldn’t find the ‘centre’ we were expecting: most activity seems to take place on a busy little ‘ring road’ that skirts the village proper. An excellent site for touring this area, east of Avignon.
