Wonderfully placed for Avignon; 10 min cycle to free river taxi. pitches good and nice size. not much of view but quiet at night and very secure. pool fantastic and restaurant great food. wash areas ok.
Great cycling country amongst the vines sampling the wines
Stopped here for 3 nights to visit Avignon, campsite right opposite “Le Pont D’Avignon” and a nice 20min walk in over the bridge, also there is a free navette shuttle across the river a 5 min walk from the site.
Pitches are fine, showers a tad cool but possibly because of the gap at the bottom allowing the wind to blow under, not a problem as used our own shower.
Only downside was a little noisy from traffic across the river which seemed to go on all night - and I’m hard of hearing!
But all in all a great site for visiting Avignon, would recommend and return, maybe choose a pitch further back from river.
Came for one night and stayed for five. Great location for visiting Avignon
This site (and the one next to it) are ideally located for visiting Avignon either by the free ferry (be aware it stops for lunch and early evenings) or walking back via the bridge. However, the site had several toilet blocks closed and we were allocated a pitch quite a distance from the entrance at the front (there is no back gate) even though there were lots of empty pitches. There are also too many trees so too much shade, creating a dark and gloomy feeling inside. Needed strong mozzie repellent here. It does have a nice pool (which I did not use). After checking out the following morning, we parking our camper in the car park (outside a coded barrier) as we wanted to visit Avignon again. While away, someone attempted to break in by drilling out the habitation door lock. Fortunately, they did not succeed, probably disturbed. It may or may not be co-incidence that there were 2 tatty campers which did not enter the campsite but parked all night in the car park and were still there the next morning. I feel security should monitor the car park more carefully.
Totalment recomenable. Molt bon càmping. A prop del centre. A 15 minuts a peu.
Stayed on this site for a couple of nights whilst visiting Avignon. Good sized pitches with hedges. WiFi thankfully useless but dogs not under control. i.e. a dog friendly site.
Staff friendly and facilities up to the usual French standard.
Well placed for walking or cycling into town.large flat pitches with good tall tree cover.also a cheaper area for motorhomes that don't want electric that's simply on large car park in the site. toilet blocks are clean , and have actual toilet s not just hole in the ground, but like rest of the site could do with a repaint and freshen up. Pool looks v,clean and large with small kids pool beside it. Bar and restaurant beside pool and a bit loud but all quiet by 11 pm.Can imagine in August it could be a bit hectic. The design of bar etc is dated and being in an alcove tends to enhance the noise level. We were camped all way over to the veiw of the river so no bother to us. 2 full size tennis an volleyball on-site.We like it and can reccomend.
The ups; very close to the city, great view of the Popes Palace, goon facilities and a nice pool.
The downs; no access to the riverside, view spoils by fencing, very small uneven pitches.
Reception very helpful, explaining route into Avignon by ferry. Moved from allocated pitch to alternative which was not so crowded. Our pitch was level with hedges on three sides. This is a popular site on the river and with easy access to Avignon. The electrics kept cutting out and the only option was to find another socket, our neighbours had the same problem! Shower block was adequate and clean. Limited facilities in April.
