Stayed April 2018. Friendly welcome but only offered certain pitches for camping maybe because using ACSI discount card ? Pool was nice and great location near to sandy beach in a bay. Short walk to supermarket and town. Nice clean toilets and plenty of them.
Very abrupt and unfriendly welcome, even though I asked if we could stay in my best schoolgirl French (with a smile). The manager claimed he only had 1 pitch left and if we didn\'t like it we could leave. There were lots of pitches available. We liked it and we stayed for a week. Next time we saw the manager he was charm itself (twin brother maybe?). Good location across the road from lovely bay (steep path down). Carrefour nearby. Shops and good restaurants, particularly by harbour in Cavalaire less than 10 mins on bike tracks into town. Will go again despite the manager. Bus stop outside site with easy access to St Tropez which is well worth a visit
Very difficult campsite to find - directions from town then disappear - up a very steep hill - staff were very unfriendly and not helpful - campsite very messy and dirty - pitches poor.
This is pretty close to wild camping when you look at the pitches . Pitches are scattered between trees on uneven ground any corner they can squeeze you in is a pitch .I wouldn't call the place motorhome friendly at all especially if you are over 6.5mts ,and height can also be a bit dodgy with large low overhanging branches ,also difficult to drain your waste and refill with fresh water ,no motorhome service area so we left after 2nights , but the location is great short walk to Carrefore and busy Port town with plenty shops and restaurants . Beach is across road down hill ,and the sea is pretty deep at the edge so be carefull . Got our first Mossie bites here as there is a pool of stagnant mucky water at the edge as you approch the beach . Not sure if would use again .
Stayed he while touring in our camping van so nice stayed 5 days! Really helpful staff, lovely place, lots of trees and nice and clean. All the staff helpful and friendly. The pool is the best I have ever been in, clean, nice size and really was heated I couldn't keep out of it. Nice restaurant and take away service. Nice bakery offering fresh bread etc. all day. The beach and town are lovely and we took a bus to St Tropez easy and quick. Great time.
Stayed until they closed at the end of 2012, about 10 days. Yes the staff could do better if one doesn't speak French and there was nowhere to empty the waste tank. However we liked it, camping under the trees and didn't fuss about the nearness of others camping around us.
I was very disappointed with this campsite. The staff whilst not unpleasant, did not make you feel over special. The toilet facilities were old and run down. There is only water available at the toilet block. The pitches are far too small with no demarcation between most pitches. It is a popular site (probably because of the location with town & beach very close), and so expect to be squeezed in very close to your neighbours (thankfully ours were lovely). We visited in October 2012 (I can't think of lower season than that) and it was nearly full. Despite the sea being so close, there is no real view of it. The beach is not a very pretty one by the area's standards (although it is very close across from one busy road). The site experiences moderate traffic noise even at night. The pool looked lovely. The beach & nearby modern town (many bars & restaurants) are the obvious lure for this site & it's a pity that the owners cannot raise the standards to match the surrounding attractions.
Should be a very nice campsite - Cavalaire is agreeable, the situation of the campsite is good, beach & shopping v close, gd shade and trees and what is basically a beautiful pool - not sure what it would be like to use the pool in season however. Cycling from the Campsite is gd and the local bus lets you get from the campsite to such as St Tropez for 4euros return each. However, not easy access for motorhome, and nowhere to empty waste water - we were even told we had to go into Cavalaire!!! Pool had a green line of growth, the toilet block was dirty, and closed at the most inconvenient times 7.00am - 8.00am for example.
Wi-fi is available, but costs an eyewatering 3euros per 30 mins.
Shame really, because it would be relatively easy to resolve these concerns which were shared by other campers.
A nice camp site set on slight hillside with a lovely swimming pool, the toilet facilities and showers are adequate, if you can get in them as they clean them at the buseist times! Some pitches are quite small. The sea is 200 metres away down a steep hill.
I have made a short video which can be viewed on YouTune \"Camping Bonporteau\".
My wife and I have stayed at this campsite for 3 weeks both this year and in 2010 and intend to go back for an extended period in 2012. With the ACSI discount it offers a great ambience and superb location at a very cheap price given its location on the Cote D'Azure and on the edge of a very pretty small town. Most of our fellow campers were equally enthusistic and most had either been before and /or intended to go again.
If I was paying 60 euros per night in full season I might think that the sanitaires could be larger and more modern
