Great space. Wonderful people. Near beach. You can go in bike at saint marie le mer or in bus of the village from july. Near a naturul park of camargue.
This campsite is located near the beach in the Carmargue. Be warned the mosquitoes are huge and numerous. Could not sit outside even with protective spray and wrist bands. Acquired more than 20 bites being careful. Cut our stay short as it was unbearable. Even our poor dog was getting attacked severely. We will not return.
Worst ever campsite been on, pitches very small, very untidy site, would not recommend. Staff not helpful and very untidy.
Nearly put off by previous comments, however, wanted the close proximity to Carmargue. Arrived early. I used french and staff happy to indulge me, helping out ocassionally. Given the list of places available and advised pitches occupied til 1100 so unless pitch empty early, would need to wait until then. Most pitches a good size, some enormous. Dusty pitches, but what else can you expect when temps are 30+ most days. We waited an hour for ours as we really wanted that one. Print not small, maybe reading glasses needed for previous reviewer ? Pool fantastic, water slides great fun. restaurant food v good quality, drinks reasonably priced. Staff friendly. Security very good !! Loos etc ok, showers short bursts of push button. Area amazing; great cycling around the Carmarge, great for visiting Aigues Morte, town a 5 min cycle in, where restaurants and shops are plentiful. We had sense to take mozzie protection as it's on a delta, so no issues there. We ended up staying a week and will return.
This is a very busy site, the staff were extremely friendly but the site wasn't one of our favourites.
It needed more sun loungers around the pool. The town is very touristy. You will need mosquito repellent for the Camargue region
Reasonably nice site. Very hot when we were there - some flies. Reception staff were a bit ‘laissez faire ‘ and not too interested. WiFi instructions didn’t work and no resolution offered. Swimming pool very nice. Washing machine had no instructions - jeton or cash? No one knew! No loo paper. Tiny supermarket in town, awkward parking. Cycle track was very sandy and bit hazardous in places. Many attractions closed despite being mid July.
Staff seemed offhand. Toilet facilities we're cramped and a bit smelly. Shower ceilings covered with black mould.
Visited this site intending to stay a couple of days but left after one. Reception staff, a middle aged man, very offhand and unwelcoming, electric pitches for ACSI members littered, muddy, rutted and like a truck stop. Sanitary block smelt of drains. Site shop assistant refused to serve my wife with bread (I think because she was obviously English) telling her to go to the gas station. They served me when I went in immediately afterwards. An unpleasant site staffed by unfriendly people. The location is good.
We stayed here in our caravan for three nights in June. Despite many warnings picked up in other reviews, we decided to have a go at staying on this site right on the Camargue coast – it seemed too good to miss. Most warnings concerned the biting insects, but we were armed with lotions, coils, electric vapour devices and screens, so we thought we could survive. We arrived at 12.05 (grrr!). This meant we had a two hour wait until the reception re-opened at 2pm. Quite a queue formed and tempers were getting frayed by 2pm as the queue jumpers did their best! Good points: plenty of space on site in June; a very nice, if busy, pool; direct access to the beach from the site. Bad points…well, the insect life was intolerable. Even fully lotioned, you couldn’t comfortably walk from the door of the ‘van to the back of the car without feeling the biters moving in. We mustered about 50 bites between us in 3 days. An English couple we met lasted one night and left traumatised! Having said that there were plenty of people lounging around on site, apparently comfortable. We had to leave after 3 days because we were tense and uncomfortable…not good on a holiday. Incidentally, we had a great day out on the nearby bird reserve. Did we get bitten there at all – no!! Add to this problem a feeling that the site is unloved; the older toilet block was smelly; there is a bar/café, but they offer ONE outside table and no shade! Taking all of this together, we realised that a better holiday could be had elsewhere – and so it proved! Never again!
Very disappointed, probably our worst ACSI experience. No customer satisfaction, grubby facilities, poorly maintained pitches. Pool very pleasant. Surrounding area excellent.
