Location of campsite ideal for visit to A en P, local, buses run approx every hour & its a pleasant run into city. Route to site, roads quite narrow & bendy with deep gully’s at each side of road. Toilet/shower rooms kept clean, not separate for M/F! Little shop in reception, selling basics, but not cheap. Reception staff spoke enough English to,get by. Pitches, good size, although slightly hilly,,but good tree cover for shade.
As previous reviewers have said, a pretty reasonable site for a few nights, very welcoming and helpful staff. Wi-fi is free for the first 30 minutes when you log on for the first time only, then you have to pay for it. Plenty of hot water in the somewhat dated (but very clean) sanitary blocks. Washing machine but no drier, there are however a number of “communal” washing lines. Large washing up area with plenty of very hot water, but there is just a single hot tap that’s close to, but not over, the sinks, so be sure to take a washing up bowl with you!! Bread can be ordered the day before. The pitches vary in size and most have decent amounts of shade BUT beware whilst getting to and onto your pitch. The trees are pretty low in places and the access roads quite narrow, it would be very easy to damage a Motorhome owing to the proximity of the woodwork! Not quite so bad with a caravan. The bus stop directly outside the campsite (regular daily service) takes you right into the centre of Aix, the lady in reception even tells you what stop to get off at!, there is a huge market in Aix every Saturday, just head off the Main Street to find where the local shop for their provisions, we got enough fresh veg to make our own superb Ratatouille. Whilst in the area be sure to visit Cassis AND drive the “Route Des Cretes” (clearly signposted from Cassis) awesome views from vertiginous cliff top stops, DON\'T miss it. It looks narrow but we saw full size coaches negotiating it (slowly!!)
A delightful campsite with friendly staff and excellent facilities. Visited Aix en Provence by bus from the campsite gates at ridiculously low prices for the tickets. Used the bus again to access walking paths across the St Victoire plateau (the drivers never charged for these short journies) which has amazing views. A lovely site and looking forward to returning there.
Very good site in a beautiful area. Staff first class and a frequent bus to Aix right outside the site entrance. Somewhat a white knuckle ride as road to Aix narrow and high. Don't follow your satnav if leaving site going west as that took me on the same narrow road and right through Aix. Aix well worth a visit. Had great mussels and frites in city. Would visit both site and Aix again, but try and get pitch with a better view.
Camping pitch was very small and difficult to put caravan in. We do have a large, single axle van so we were given one of the larger plots. However there was no room to put up the awning and park the car. Luckily we stayed only one night so didn't plan to put up awning anyway. Toilet facilities very clean with plenty of hot water.
Great campsite close to Aix and bus stop right outside site - 2€ return to Aix. Near the Ste Victoire area and worth a drive around. Bread and croissants etc daily. Sunbathing area.
A lovely quiet campsite just outside Aix en Provence. The bus stops right outside and takes you to the heart of the city. Lovely walks in the Provence hills, some straight from the site. Would love to return sometime
Stayed just for a night. Open campsite with good facilities. The situation of the clean & grey water & toilet facilities at the entrance to the site is different.
Camping Victoire is extremely convenient for public transport into Aix with regular bus services.
WIFI was free and good.
Despite previous comments about access we had no issues with moving our 7.5m m/home around the site. Pitches were also of a good size.
Camping is full invectiveś commands t.e. "Mans take your urine inside toilette". Toilette was building by system swallow bird with small size. Breds is selled no hygienically, not packed and put on the desk rsception. In shop was just about nothing. The nature landscape is very interesting but, in view of the fact that is nearly Aix en Prov. is full of people.
Saint victoire is in a very scenic location, its pitches were marked well and ours was very floral, the toilets and showers were spotless. However despite this site been open over a month the only water point for fresh water was the sanitare block causing you to carry heavy water containers a good way, there I only one hot water tap for all wash up sinks and laundry, always tepid never hot. The site and small pitches are very difficult to manoeuvre around due to a narrow track, trees and stakes making many pitches inaccessible for caravans more suited to tents or small camper vans. The shop is very expensive. There is no bar just cans from the shop which closes at 6.30 pm. The pizzeria is just a phone number on the side of a drinks machine for a takeaway. I would NOT return to this site.
