We stayed at this site for 10 days but could have stayed longer. Beatrice welcomed us on arrival and we were impressed with her very friendly and helpful attitude. She invited us to choose a pitch but recommended several that were huge(184sq m) as we have a large van. The pitch was partly shaded which was welcome in the hot sun. The site itself was beautiful with numerous trees and pitches divided by mature hedging. It is situated in a quiet country area near the delightful small town of Coulon which was a 20 minute walk away alongside the river with plenty of wildlife including several kingfishers. Pool was well maintained and a welcome addition in the hot weather. Toilets were constantly cleaned and more than adequate. A very pleasant stay and will definitely visit again.
A wonderful campsite in a great location. We stayed two nights here and would love to have stayed longer. Owner very helpful. Great for beginner cyclists like myself. Coulon, the village, is delightful with Le Petit Train and boats for hire. Being a marshy area, mosquitoes could be a problem, There are basic shopping facilities in the village.
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. We'd a large pitch with tap and electricity point on the pitch. Sanitary block very clean and plenty of hot water. Definitely one to visit again.
We stopped over for one night only on our trip further South - wish we could have stayed longer! Wonderful site, very clean, friendly owners, big level pitches and a wonderful pool. Will definitely stay longer next year so that we can take advantage of all the walking and cycling opportunities near by.
Lovely site, could not fault it. Very friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely return and recommend. Local town very pretty and plenty opportunities for cycling, walking and boating.
We arrived after reception was closed, owners let us in, were helpful and friendly. An excellent stay (2 weeks)
Excellent facilities - showers/toilets, pool, pitch. Generally a friendly site, a lot of English campers. Brilliant cycling routes. Definitely will return
Lovely lady welcomed us to this jewel of a campsite set just across the road from the River Sevres. We brought our own canoe and spent some wonderful times on the canals around the site enjoying the wildlife in perfect peace and tranquility. The pitch was nicely shaded, the sanitary block was always clean although we would have liked seats to the toilets (must be an English thing!). There was absolutely no problem with our dog, lots of places to go for walkies and all in all l have no hesitation to saying this was one of the highlights of our holiday in France.
A mid-sized campsite on the outskirts of Coulon, which is the centre of the "Marais-Poitevin" network of canals. Pitches are flat and of a reasonable size.
The toilet/shower block is quite modern, but curiously designed in that, for example, the washbasins in the toilet area - used by both sexes - are adjacent to the urinals. The showers are accessed by a separate door from the outside, which is kept open, despite the cool conditions on the morning we were there.
There is a restaurant but it was closed during our visit, but there are others within walking distance in the town.
What a fabulous site near to the beautiful town of Coulon with its river and canals.
Have stayed twice and will most certainly be back
Very helpful pleasant reception staff, restaurant on site which we didn’t use, pizza van on nights restaurant was closed which served excellent pizzas. Close to Coulon, great area for cycling.
