A good site for a stopover as it is close to the N10. A friendly welcome when we arrived. Touring pitches are amongst lots of statics but they are neat and tidy. Water next to the pitch and hard standing for the caravan. Great value.
Helpful and friendly staff, easy to find big sign on main road, the area used by most tourers is new, but trees etc starting to grow, if it's not your scene ask to be moved to the original area with lots or shade but maybe less room for a big unit. The river is a short walk away as is a nice park, there is a good resturant just by the river, and the site does a selection of pizzas and burgers etc. The surrounding villages are beautiful and well worth a tour. The main toilet block is in the old area and only 2 minutes walk from the tourer area, there is a simple but adequate small block in the tourer area.
A great stop over or a place to stay longer if you wanted to visit the area. Great value using ACSI card.
Stayed for 4 nights, lovely owners, did not have correct connection for electric, instantly appeared with adaptor, not a problem. Showers hot water and a personnel heater when light turns on, not had this in any other camp site yet, stayed in 7 so far. Decor tired but more than adequate. 100m from a beautiful spot on Charente river, spent hours there whiling away a sunny afternoon watching the wildlife go by. Town 10 mins walk away, shops, restaurants, boulangerie etc. well worth a stop off on your travels.
Because of its location and cost this site is perfect for a stopover. The more established part of the site looks nice, very shady with a bar and restaurant. However we along with other units stopping over were put on the new part of the campsite which is very open and a bit scruffy. There is security at the front gate but a big open entrance at the back. Lots of work vans here. Friendly welcome and very helpful owners. Three pin plug needed not europlug.
We really enjoyed staying here and will definitely be back. It was a very peaceful site with good sized pitches. The price was very good value. There was a free choice of shade or sunshine. The staff were friendly and facilities spotless. We haven't given many stars for some things as we didn't use them, so can't comment. There is a wooden building being constructed at the moment, we can't wait to see it completed.
We did have a few problems finding this site. The signs seemed to just disappear and sat nave took us off the main road too early so wound our way through the narrow lanes till we eventually saw it. Have faith and stick to the D911 till it is signposted!
Didn't eat as had own food.
Pool looked good but was not open (May)
They were in the process of refurbing the toilet block and making a very good job of it although I think the facilities might be a bit stretched in high season as there were not many toilets or shower.
All in all a good stopover we would use again
Can't agree with the comments of the couple who stayed in May 2015. We found the site very easy to find even though our satnav, wanted to take us down small lanes. Just stay on the N10 until you see the sight for the campsite. The site is good and is being improved, the pitches out of the shade are huge. The showers and toilet block are clean, not the newest, but more than adequate. There is a gym which for a campsite is very good, the pool is super and lots of chairs and/or shade. There is a great park by the river which is just a little walk down the lane, a great place to relax. Stephanie and her husband are very friendly and helpful, they let us choose any pitch we wanted and left us to set up in our own time. We went out to tour the local towns arriving back after the cafe closed. They prepared a lunch for us! So all in all a great place to stay for a short break.
Friendly site and unlike others quite easy to find. So helpful they identified a local vet for our dogs return examination. Beautiful swimming pool and food better than average. Beautiful quiet surroundings near the river. Will certainly use again.
We went here in May 2015 and the site was very scruffy and the emplacements rough under foot. There were dirty old caravans on the site and the toilet facilities were extremely poor. We were unable to find the showers at first until a member of staff pointed out the one shower which seemed to be for the whole campsite. We were allotted a pitch but didn't stay as we felt uncomfortable here in our motorhome. The only redeeming feature was the new swimming pool. We also found it very hard to find and it took us sometime to locate the site, coming in from the East of the village. We were very disappointed with this site and the fact that we then had to travel further than intended to find another suitable ACSI site
