Big improvement since here last in about 2009. Toilet block is excellent. Great site if you want total peace and quiet and/or fishing. Very helpful owners.

Arrived for a three day stopover, to try a spot of fishing. This site is distant, and you need to arrive with provisions to cover you for your stay. Reception great, pitches on grass, and spacious at this time of year. Facilities might be pressured under a full site. Sanitary facilities are first class but limited to one block as far as we know. Pool looked good but , as the restaurant , we did not use. Lake is full of fish, with some very large carp

Very nice, quiet, peaceful site. The family who own it are so very helpful and can’t do enough for you. Lots of hot water in the facilities. Nice bar/ restaurant. Free DVD’s to borrow. Very reasonable laundry room. Good cycling on very quiet country roads plus some off road trails. Lovely fishing lake, free for campers. Free WiFi near reception. A good site made even better by the family who run it, we will return.

We stopped overnight on our way back from Spain and uncovered a hidden gem. So peaceful all you could hear at night was a distant owl, if it\'s tranquility you\'re after you\'ve hit the jackpot here.
Only downside was we were only here over night so didn\'t have time to try the resteraunt/bar or try a spot of fishing in the picturesque lake.
Looking forward to a longer visit next time

Used this site as a one night stop coming home from Portugal but the pitches were so calm and spacious we stayed for two nights. The owners are an English family who are extremely friendly and helpful and even offered to arrange the pet passport visit to the vet for us.

I don't think the reviews I read give this 3 star site the credit it deserves. It's lovely.

We were looking for a campsite near Angouleme and Cognac and found this little gem. The setting is beautiful and from the moment you enter the owners are extremely welcoming and friendly, even to the extent of coming round the site at midnight during a thunderstorm to make sure everyone was safe. How many other sites would this happen. We took the bus from the village into Angouleme and spent a lovely day there exploring. Cognc is also worth a visit, there is definitely a smell of the famous brandy in the air here. Back to the campsite the little Bistro provided us with an excellent meal served by the family in very relaxing atmosphere by the lakeside.
If you are looking for a quietly relaxing break I would certainly recommend this site and when we are back in the area we will stay her again

We stayed for 3 relaxing days, lovely quiet site set on a lake with lots of wildlife. Clean new shower block with plenty of hot water. No local bar or shops you would need to take the car but plenty of walking and cycle paths. Fresh eggs and bread available on site. Very friendly English owners who are working very hard to make this an excellent site. We will be going back.

This campsite has improved a lot over the few years the present owners have been in charge. the owners are very friendly and the toilet block which used to be outdated has been replace with modern facilities - still unisex though. the site is lovely.

What a gem. We had not planned to visit the area but changed our plans to meet family. From the moment we arrived we received such a warm welcome from Pet, Sara and their family who all get involved. The new toilet block is excellent, the pitches are well prepared and a good size and the family have plans to improve facilities further. They have a comprehensive list of cycle and walking routes and nothing is too much trouble. If you are ever in the area and want to'switch off' and relax for a few days then this is perfect. We were very reluctant to move on. Thank you for a great few days.

Back to visit this beautiful site which has just opened the promised new sanitary block. Cosmetics not all finished but the new showers are wonderful, adjust to your own temperature and everything else is new too. Bathroom for disabled and a family room in the heated part. Food good in the restaurant as usual and the grass is freshly cut. Apart from the toilet block, signs of a lot of work gone on over the winter with the development of this beautiful site.
