This is a delightful simple site within a lovely small town. Very pleasant and helpful owner. Lovely walk through a park into town (5 minutes) and a supermarket and Boulanger a short walk from the site entrance. Hardly anyone else here in mid May so non of the additional services operating - but who needs them anyway. Highly recommended we shall return if in this area again again.
Totally excellent site. I\'m trusting you to keep your mouth shut about this one as I want to be able to get a pitch later this year - so mum\'s the word! Very friendly owner, easy in / out / pitches for big boys. Best shower block I\'ve seen. Easy stroll to well stocked supermarket. Lovely walk through park to delightful town. This was great even in November, was going to stop one night, stayed 3! If I could slap a few more stars on I would! But remember, keep this between you and me!
Very pleasant site with excellent access to the town via a walkway from the site. Family run and very pleasant and helpful they were. Most pitches of a good size. We were lucky to get a large pitch on hardstanding. When we were there in late Sept/early Oct there were a lot of motorhomes with one night stays. We were there for nearly a week. Toilet and shower facilities very clean and modern. Supermarket and lovely bakery within walking distance and bigger out of town commercial area within easy reach. Good access to La Rochelle, Saintes and other areas of interest. We will definitely return.
Last year we visited this campsite for 2 nights, this year we decided to stay for 3 nights.
We have a motorhome and the pitches here are a good size, in length and width, some hard standing, some grass, separated by hedges. There are also bungalows and a swimming pool and other facilities which are not open at this time of year but look as though they would be good in warmer weather.
The new owners had been here a month when we arrived last year and it looks as though they are making steady progress to improve the site.
The small sanitary block still looks new, with toilets, showers and (doored) wash cubicles. It is always clean and is heated.
The town of Surgères is an easy walk through a park and past historic buildings and well worth visiting. We have a dog, and found the veterinary practice in town helpful and convenient for the Pet Passport.
A small site with very clean heated toilet facilities, no toilet paper. There is access to a riverside walk that leads into town, via the excellent chateau grounds if you prefer. There is a supermarket and boulangerie within 5 minutes walk. It is a pleasant town with good restaurants and bars. We stayed here twice in October and November 2015, going South and coming North, and will use it again.
Really enjoyed our one night stay, English is spoken in reception , super market less than 5 minutes walk ( others 5 minutes drive) pitches large and toilets / showers good. location good with interesting walks.
New owners busy making improvements - staff very friendly and helpful, pitches were still wet from winter so parking on the access roads necessary. A new facilities block still to be fully completed which was clean. Fuel and supermarket close also nice Boulanger at the end of the road - convenient for lots of touring oportunities
we stayed here for 3 nights (short break) staff very friendly, pitch was fine. Appears to be a new facilities block which was clean. Price was excellent compared to some others we have been to. Value for Money. Would return.
We had headed for La Rochelle but our chosen site was full so we decided to drive inland and see what we could find. We were lucky to find Camping de la Geres and we stayed on this site for six nights and cannot fault it. The shower block was always clean, the staff were friendly and the proximity to the town and the supermarket made it perfect for us. We will return.
Stopped on route south and was delighted with value for money. New shower biock and large pitches. Nearby park with riverside walk lead into Surgeres town centre and supermarket handy for fuel and food.
Small outside bar sells excellent value local wine. Free wifi was good through-out the site.
The small pool was kept very clean and ideal for cooling off but too small for serious swimming.
Perfect stop-over for my family.
