A traditional and homely four star campsite conveniently facing the ocean. Cycle path past the site, and 250 metres from 'La Grande Côte' beach, restaurants, bars and shops. A very quiet campsite with no entertainment. Spacious, level pitches with grass in both sun and shade. Renovated toilet facilities.

Excellent site with beach across the road. Better beach within walking distance. Cycle route outside site directly into St Palais Sur Mar centre 3km. Other cycle routes available around area. Map available at reception. Acsi card accepted earlier than most sites in the area
We were told that this site has very small pitches but although there are some that are very crammed together, many are easily large enough for a caravan, awning and car with room to spare. Some are under pine trees on parts of the site and the very heavy cones do drop occasionally so be warned. Most staff are friendly and helpful, facilities excellent and very clean. Small shop on site sells a few essentials and of course baguettes. There is an excellent bread / pastry shop and fish monger a couple of hundred yards away and many restaurants & cafe\'s within a short walk. There is no pool on site but there is a massive sandy beach (Grande Cote) a short stroll away and a very large naturist beach a little further for those wanting an all over tan. Cycle tracks are excellent in the area. The nearest supermarket is about 2km away in St-Palais-Sur-Mer and there are plenty of shops there also. Royan itself is about 10km away with its many shops & restaurants. La Palmyre Zoo is about 6km. There is so much to see and do within a short car or bike ride. This really is an excellent site in the perfect coastal location.
A lovely friendly, but busy site. Caters well for UK campers as has entry and exit keypads on both sides. The pitches are generally spacious and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The toilet facilities are very good and a wee shop at the entrance sells bread without having to order in advance. Remember to bring your French 2-pin plug as does not accept blue Commando type. Just outside the gate are great walks and cycle paths, with the sea directly in front of the campsite. The vast beach and numerous cafes/restaurants is only a 5 minute dander from the site. Watch out for the dreaded mozzie. The site is also a have for birds, with Jays and Hoopoe frequenting the pitches.
We stayed a week at this site and had a really great time. The site is next to the sea and there are lovely walks from the camp along the coast and into St. Palais-Sur mer. The staff are friendly and very professional and speak several languages. We had a choice of pitch and they even mapped out the shady ones! The toilet facilities are first class-very clean and with loo paper.
WE would certainly recommend this site to everyone; couple and families.
Excellent site right on the coast. Friendly staff. Just under 2 mile walk in to St Palais which is a lovely seaside village/town. Site does not have a pool but there is a long sandy beach 10 minutes walk away. Bread and croissants available in a morning. Toilets are mainly sharers. Only downside is having to wait to get electric connected as boxes are locked, not a problem on arriving but earliest disconnect is 9.15 so an early start means disconnecting the night before. Would use again.
A brilliant site located just off the cliff/beachfront (but no views from the campsite) In an area with so much to see and do. Reception staff all speak excellent English and are very helpful. Large well kept pitches for you to select from with a choice of shade or full sun, pitches clearly numbered and demarcated by tress/shrubs but not enough to make you feel hemmed in, plenty of water points (a screw on Gardena type adapter and a short length of hose is very useful as the outlets are horizontal)
On site shop sells the (real) basics such as bread and wine. Bars and eateries are only a short stroll away as is great beach (sand)
Extensive cycle paths (proper paths not painted lanes on the road) go off in both directions. It's about 4 miles into Royan with a cycle path all the way (worth a visit just to see some of the beachfront properties on the way) likewise in the other direction where there some fabulous sandy beaches to be found.
There are NO facilities for children other than a small play area for 4-8 yr olds. It was very peaceful indeed when we were there (late May 2017) It is a VERY large site that goes on and on with cabins as well as touring pitches BUT because of its layout it has the feel of a much smaller one so don't be put off.
If travelling with a motorhome there is only one MH service point by reception for grey waste (everyone seems to water the shrubs with their grey waste though)
We WILL most certainly be returning here, it's simply a gem of a place (and a real bargain using ACSI)
What a lovely site. Brilliant location on the sea front & good access. You have to park in a designated area then after checking in at reception you get a map & go & look for a pitch. We had lots of choice in mid June. All the pitches appeared well kept with short tidy grass/area & fairly level. The pitches were all numbered. Reception staff most helpful & English spoken. The pitches were large with easy access but our mover was a great help around the trees. You could choose shady of open aspect pitches. The sanitaires were immaculate at all times - they were mixed but you never had to queue. The little shop on site sold essentials including daily fresh bread etc. You got 30 mins daily free wifi around reception - you could pay if you wanted more but it was quite expensive. There are plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. We cycled into Royan but St Palais was close enough & the daily market there was excellent. Overall a great site that was very well run & peaceful.
Lovely, site, excellent location. We arrived on 6/9/15 without a reservation only just got on site. Big beach couple of hundred meters to right on exiting site, half a dozen restaurants as well. Probably the best toilet blocks we have seen. Will certainly return
Our second visit to this site around this time of year and a different experience. Site was packed when we arrived - recommend pre-booking. We arrived with two little dogs and there were a few people moaning about dogs on the site. I was actually told off by a French woman when walking my dogs on the site. I always pick up my dogs' poo and I was annoyed with her reaction. Four mornings the electricity went off on the site and Wifi not working for 2/3 days when we arrived.
Fantastic site, great welcome can't wait to go back next year
