The site itself is lovely, the young lady in reception sweet and tries her best to be of service, toilets and shower facilities new in old building, plots good size, pool nice and cool in the heat.
The owner told me my swimming trunksis not up to his standard, I have to wear budgie smugglers, swimming shorts a no go, noticed they sold skin tight swimming trunks. He offered to buy some and he refused to sell them to me.
However the facilities lack toilet seats, toilet rolls and hand soap, lots of rules, if you leave after 11:50 AM you\'ll be charged an extra fee equivalent of another days stay, undermined the young receptionist in front of customers, just not nice owners. camp sites great, weird.
Well perhaps the owners have taken note of the reviews regarding friendliness as we received a pleasant welcome with a smile. On leaving I was greeted with friendly concern when I asked if the two very boisterous teenagers in the pool were campers or I thought perhaps their own children. Their lack of respect for others was unacceptable. The owners run a very tight ship with regard to camp rules, Le Monsieur sitting by the pool all day, thought he was a lifeguard but no, he was there to insure no shoes or shorts only Speedo’s in the pool area, such a pity he ignored the lack of consideration for the mostly seniors trying to enjoy a dip. That said it is a lovely well run campsite right on the river with a lovely riverside walk into a nice small town. The new toilet block is great just a pity no seat, paper or soap. All this aside it’s a good night hop or great to pass a few days. We will definitely return.
We have stayed at this campsite as a night stop on several occasions and it now deserves my 5 stars for the wonderful new toilet block absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately the owners were so miserable neither of them can hardly crack a smile. The first time we visited we unfortunately queried (yes we were polite) the need for the production of ID. Well you would have thought by the owners reaction that we had threatened them with physical violence. We were after all only staying one night and paid up front. We also have an ASCI card and the site\'s write up in the ACS book clearly states that an ASCI card is acceptable and ID is not required. We have never in all our years (16) of camping in France been asked to produce ID when checking into a campsite. It may be that as we normally pay in advance they do not have to worry that we will sneak off without paying. Please may I stress it was not the asking for the ID that was the problem it was the reaction of the owners to our request for clarification that was so surprising. As said for us it is a good overnight stop.
I expect at least somone to say bonjour when I go to reserve an emplacement. No not here,a very business like lady and gentleman, who only said \"yes how many nights\". Disappointing .The campsite is lovely and has 2 new toilet blocks( contrary to 2018 ASCI reviews).Perhaps a smile would make you feel the appreciated your business.
Well worth a visit
Lovely location, great walks, friendly staff. Only one shower block open, old fashioned but clean. We rang ahead and asked if they would accept our twin axle caravan they said yes, lovely large pitch with water & electric hookup. Beautiful river & lake just out side site. Would return again.
Stayed 2 nights in May 2017. Toilet facilities clean, old & characterful! No hand-wash except next door in wash / shower area. No soap or toilet paper. Water just about hot enough for shower. Pitches well spaced a feeling of space. Quiet location with good walks around lake and woodland and into lovely ancient town with 11th & 12th century buildings as well as 18th century so very interesting to wander. Some shops, bars, cafes and a restaurant or two. Site needs a bit of investment on and updating of sanitary block but clean and maintained. Expensive WiFi. Great location. Recommended.
Have stayed here before! Thought some toilet renovations would have been carried out by now! Owners really need to spend some cash refurbishing because the site is otherwise very good. Owners not particularly welcoming! Beautiful location with a nice walk over the bridge and through a park or, a longer walk to the town. Swimming pool is lovely!Only stayed one night because as well as dodgy loos, wifi was quite costly too.
Very pleasant campsite within walking distance of an interesting town well worth a visit. Did not use the swimming pool as weather not good enough, but looked OK. Pitches of a good size. Only let down is whereas the facilities were very clean, there were some Turkish toilets which we don 't like. Washing up water was a bit too cold.
Nice campsite good location easy access. Large flat pitches on grass. Near a lake and a close walk to town. Very strange toilet and shower facility set up but whilst tired looking they were clean. Hot water, no toilet paper, pay for wifi if these things bother you. The receptionist was helpful but they also lost our acsi card. You had to leave your acsi card with them and they didn't appear to file them when we came to leave she had to search the desk with many pieces of strewn paper with people's cards etc. be aware!
We have noted your comments. We always try to satisfy our customers. I just wanted to make a correction. We have just misplaced your card ACSI a few minutes and you are left with. We apologize for this error and we apologize but we still have not lost anything!.Thank you.
