Lovely site. Nice walks by the sea, or to the lighthouse. Best shower blocks ever used, with hottest water. One block being renovated to luxury standard. Warm welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Wonderful area for bikes.

This is a lovely site with a variety of well sized pitches, some interestingly tucked amongst the dunes with others more conventionally laid out. If you have a dog it may be excercised conveniently in the lane alongside the site and there is good access to a cycle path. Compared to other sites we stayed on the island Les Baleines was very peaceful and we hope to return sometime.

Yes borders the beach with easy access but when we were there for 2 nights very windy. Lighting in the showers poor. Showers only cool on first night but after complaining they were hot the second night. Free Wifi across the site. Great for cycling and doing the top end of the island loop. Large site with a wide selection of sizes pitches and well maintained with a new motorhome service area.

Excellent location for beach, staff super friendly and toilets clean and new. It gets very dark at night so finding the toilets can be a challenge as their aren’t too many lights

A lovely site just a short distance from the Phare de Baleines. Pitch of decent size and level. Toilets and showers very good and well maintained. Site a short distance from the Phare/lighthouse and some of the local beaches accessed via cycle paths. The shops and restaurants at the base of the phare will pass away a few hours and a few more Euros!! Reception very helpful with maps etc and language not a problem, number plate recognition in use at the barrier. Sunsets are beautiful viewed from the top of the site. The view from the top of the phare well worth his price and the climb up approximately 200 steps. When we were there it was very warm and windy so if you use a roll out awning remember the tie down kit. It might have been just when we were there or it might be the location. Again if you have a motorhome there are no local food type shops unless you have a bike and can cycle about 5 km to the nearest village. A site well worth a visit of about 2 to 3 days.

An excellent site although perhaps pushing it to warrant per night given lack of pool etc. Pitches generally of a fair size.

Plus points- friendly owners. Close to beaches, adjacent to cycle way.
Minus points- poor value for money, with no pool is expensive especially out of season!
Campsite very tired, needs lots of care and attention. Will not return.

This was the most expensive site we visited this trip which was hard to justify (outside of ACSI discount). The site has some good and some poor pitches, we did eventually choose a good one but only after rejecting the proposed inappropriate pitch - why not let us walk and choos first like everyone else does? The site is superbly located at the top of 'Re' with so much to see by bike - especially the beaches, villages, markets and sunsets from beneath the lighthouse. Quiet site with a nice feel but not good value compared to so many superb campsites we've visited this trip

first class campsite staff could not help you any more than they did all the camping pitch are a good size

A lovely peaceful site with very new and spotlessly clean toilet facilities. Such kind and friendly staff who take pride in their site and go out of their way to be helpful. Pitches are a good size but very sandy so a groundsheet is useful. We hired bikes from the site and had great fun touring the local area. Easy walking/cycling to local restaurants and lovely beaches. The Ile de Re is well worth a visit and we would definitely recommend this campsite.
