Large and pleasant site. Water was \'hold the button in\' which is a pain. Toilet and shower facilites were fine. Would be crowded in high season. Late season the shops were closed.
Large and secluded pitches. We were in the far right corner where we had a large area to ourselves. Wash facilities were kept very clean. Fouras is a lovely town with many interesting walks and cycle rides. The only downside for us was that NO dogs were allowed on any of the beautiful beaches any time of the year. The exception was a small area on one of the southern beaches. We loved the area and would visit again.
It’s a huge site with some lovely pitches but equally some horrible ones so you need to walk around and find one before you settle. This year the site was packed so we had to take what was left so it was disappointing. The toilet blocks are scattered around the site, no paper, no soap a bit shabby but clean - however even though the site was packed half of them were shut down and locked so queues formed morning and evening. The town is a short walk and is lovely, the beaches are nice but dogs are not allowed on at any time. It had obviously been a hectic season for them and it showed as the pitches/facility’s were well worn. A great site when not so full but not nice when packed, you end up on a grotty pitch and half the toilet/shower blocks are locked.
We stayed 2 nights in May in our Motorhome. Check in easy, reception staff friendly & helpful. We were able to go & look for our own pitch. Only some of the pitches have CEE connections. Nearest toilet block only had 1 shower. This was powerful & hot. No washbasins in this block, these were in another block. No paper in the WCs. Washing up water not really hot enough. Village centre with shops & castle 15 minute walk away. Walks along seafront by site.
Pitches unusable so parked on the roadway, most the amenities were locked off. Would imagine when the pitches are usable and facilities are open it could be a nice site. It’s very close to s lovely beach. Filling water is an issue as all taps are the push type and you can’t attach a hose connection. Been on worse.
Nice campsite with a variety of pitches. Some large some small but most were on a slope. You will need levellers (went two and still not level, left the large ones at home didn’t think we would need them) here. Electricity connections can be done way from the pitch, we couldn’t reach using 25 metres. But very quiet so moved pitch and told reception later. The ground at the moment is very wet so care needed. Reception very efficient no problem with ACSI card and discount. Many facilities not open but hey that’s why we travel out of season. Very close to beach and 20 minute walk to Super U with fuel.
A well equipped municipal site, open all year. Free WiFi worked well. Problem with hot water in showers, fixed by plumber after a few days but still not hot enough. Pitches soft after rain, so parked on the pathway. Easy walk along beach or sea front into pleasant town with fish market.
There seems to be some confusion whether or not they accept the acsi card although they displayed the acsi inspected sign on the door. One of the staff said that they did not and another said that the low season had finished. This contradicted what it said on the the internet.
