why can’t all campsites be this pleasant? Friendly welcome at Reception, lots of room for emplacements (pick your own preferred spot), a cracking cafe/bar serving good food at reasonable prices, a lovely quiet location alongside the beautiful Charente river, lots of good cycling and walking opportunities, sanitaires clean , supermarket and boulangerie within a 5 minute cycle ride.
Also a cracking restaurant (Moulin de la Baine) just half a mile away…good food in a stunning location.

What a lovely place right on the river. A cheery welcome and friendly staff. Choose your pitch, some under trees for shade. Small village with bakers and coop. Great free chain ferry crosses the river here with the Velo Flow cycle route there. Toilets etc fine, a bit dated but clean and hot water. Restaurant on site was very good.We booked 2 nights and stayed 4.

visited in June 2024. Ground very soft making pitching and leaving very precarious. Whole site has obviously been under 1/2M of water recently. River current prevents chain ferry from operating. Guardian tried very hard but I am unable to recommend this site.

If you are planning a visit be aware they have been badly affected by flooding and are currently closed. check with them before travelling. We didn’t!

Travelling party: Seniors

A lovely site for an overnight stay on our way North at the end of our holiday. A friendly welcome from the receptionist. A real bonus, in that, compared to a lot of other sites it remains open for an extra couple of weeks at the end of the season. We liked it so much we stayed another day and we will certainly be back again for a longer stay.

excellent little campsite in the river 2 mins walk to the village with boucherie, boulangerie tabac restaurant etc. lovely bar resto on site, very reasonable. very friendly and helpful staff. little beach and river swimming, excellent for paddle boards and canoeing too. very peaceful and quiet. just 7k to Saintes and not much further to Cognac.

Next to River Charante and town (Chandiers). Open level pitches with some shade. Shower/toilet block tired but very clean. Bar/restaurant on site was reasonable. Good site, good value.
