Badly managed site, no ground maintenance, very poor pitches. Rain could not be avoided but site poor compared to all sites visited in France in 15 years. No water in swimming pool. Site office closed when I left on Sunday morning 26 May 2013. No reply at site house and no reply to the message I left on their emergency telephone number. I emailed asking return my card, say how much I owe incl tax and I will send. Rude reply stated they will not return card until receive money, that they were open until 10am (not the normal time of mid day). Caused me a lot of problems on sites during the rest of my holiday as they had kept my ACSI card. I said they were not allowed to do that as I had given other proof of identity and shown ACSI card but they would not let me stay on site without them retaining my card. They now say leaving site is not an emergency but I did not state the nature of the emergency. Frightening to think what might happen if it was a health emergency. Against the law.
We had booked in here prior to our French tour, deposit of €20 required. I booked it upon reading reviews and viewing the pictures. We arrived no one on site, or in the office, thank goodness, we looked around and to say it was very unkept and dirty is an understatement, including the very dated toilet block, the water in the pool was stagnant and green. The only good thing I can say is the patches were flat and ample. We left to find another site.
we had booked 7 nights but left after 4 as I didn\'t like the camp at all. Granted it was out if season (mid May) but pool was closed, the place looked unkempt and unloved with what appeared to be discarded old caravans dotted about, the loud noises from the quarry started first thing in the morning and went on all day but worst of all were the toilet/ shower facilities! Makes had their own (newer block) but females had an older block - shared with males -eh?, which left one toilet and 1 shower. The lady at reception said that it was female only but they has not covered up the Male signs, so men went in!! This all too close to the toilet waste disposal! Stained and dirty floors - not a pleasant experience - we will not return.
We were very disappointed with first impressions of the site after receiving a warm welcome at reception. We are in agreement with the review. The site itself was very badly maintained, grass not cut, hedges and trees overgrown. Pitches were uneven due to ruts caused by rain 2 weeks previous - ie no maintenance at all it seems. Overall the site requires an un-announced inspection by ACSI as it is not up to the required standard. We did 2 tours of the site and had the feeling it was not for us and left without staying. After reading the majority of the reviews afterwards, I sure we made the right decision. What a shame as it is well positioned to see the sites of Picardie.
Stayed here 2 nights . Pitches lacked clear boule rise and could be middy . No hard standings and trees very low . Lady in reception was lovely . She served in the little bar as well , and was very friendly. .Shower block was a bit old and unkempt but clean and functional .
Nice looking pool but it was closed.
Peronne was fairly interesting , good museum but little else . It was a short walk from the site , along roads .
Stayed on this site for 2 nights, our pitch was by the canal, working barges and pleasure craft travelling up and down, cement works opposite, no problem. Plenty of trees giving shade. Friendly staff, limited English. Toilet facilities could do with updating, lovely inviting swimming pool unfortunately too cold to go in. Childrens play area adequate, free wifi but in limited area. Site was busy mid afternmoon/evening with overnight campers. Locally there are ALDI and LIDL stores.
Stayed many times before on route north or south. Toilets clean but need modernising. Site fine for 1 or 2 nights. Easy walk into the town and next to canal for walking or cycling. Big supermarket in the town and an Aldi near enough to walk too. Staff speak English and very friendly. Swimming pool not open for this visit but been good on previous visits later in the year.
BE CAREFUL WHEN CAMPING HERE! Our campervan was vandalised (canvas roof was slashed in an attempt to break-in), along with a couple others in the campsite. It turns out that this is not the first time this has happened either after we spoke with the campsite staff and other campers. Nobody saw anything suspicious and there were quite a few campers around. There is another review on this campsite from last year that talks about vandalism/theft, too.
The campsite itself has very good sanitary facilities and they are heated. The washing facilities are indoors but not heated. The campsite staff were very helpful: called the police and let us use the printer/scanner in the office so that we could file our insurance claim. The campsite also has lots of information on the surrounding region (no need to go to the TI). There is also free WiFi near the reception area. No privacy in terms of the pitches though.
Perfectly adequate for a stopover. Sanitaires dated but water hot. Helpful - gardien invited us to find a pitch and set up even though reception wasn't open. Receptionist came to see us later. Ground may be an issue in wet weather. There was evidence of tyre ruts indicating that it got 'soggy' in a downpour. Not a problem for caravans and small camper vans, but heavy motorhomes should be aware.
Lovely small campsite, only stopped for one night as a stop over between Lille and Paris. Staff are really friendly. The toilets and showers were clean and had toilet seats! The local town of Peronne is also a good stop if you are interested in the world war 1.
