This could be a really fantastic campsite, but as ever let down by its toilet facilities. They have concentrated on building a luxury swimming pool at the expense of updating the sanitary facilities. Lovely walks around the lake and surrounding grounds for the dogs. Such a pity.
We stayed overnight at this campsite on our way home. I was a bit hesitant about going there because of some of the reviews. The reception staff were friendly and efficient (also gave out free map and information about Laon). We were able to choose our emplacement - some are on quite a slope and you may need to use ramps. The toilet facilities were clean and the shower was nice a warm. There was also plenty of hot water for washing up. We didn’t see the campsite at it’s best due to rain but it would be quite pretty and I am sure good for a few days to explore the area.
Very large campsite area with fishing available in pond. Ideal stopping off point overnight as only 2 1/2 hours from Calais by autoroute.
Campsite on the outskirts of Laon. Small pitch with some privacy. Good modern toilet block but with no toilet seats or toilet paper (why? - don\'t the owners have these in their homes?), nice grounds seemingly being developed, small heated and covered pool and bread to order. Steep walking access into Laon, an interesting walled town. Would not return because of toilet facilities.
Good location for laon and cycling. Wash block adequate and had a lick of paint but needs upgrade, no toilet paper, poor shower and no temperature control and needs more regular cleaning. Chemical toilet has no clean water for rinsing. Pitches variable, some had recently had a significant amount of sand put on the making them unusable. Some maintenance work seems to be going on so might be better given some time.
Stayed here on an overnight stop, reception staff very pleasant and English speaking. Reception is a good way from camping area. The lower pitches are quit well defined and well kept but the higher ones up the site are a little hap- hazard and not so attractive and some are sloping but it was quite a busy weekend so there wasn’t as much choice but to take what was available. Toilet block was clean but take your own paper! We were told the town was quite interesting but we didn’t find time to take it in.
Good sized level pitches, friendly staff, clean showers etc, though cubicles were a bit on the small side. Didn’t use oil, but it looked well maintained and clean. Perfect for a one night stop over on way south.
A lovely site and well placed to visit Laon , if you don’t mind a very steep walk up from the campsite. The pool is lovely . The pitches are good. The toilet facilities were not fully open yet so not brilliant. It won’t stop us going again.
Most people only stay one night so there's a lot of coming and going each day - far end of site is a bit quieter in that respect. The only chemical toilet emptying point is opposite reception, so a long way from the far end (can't have it all ways!)
A nice level site in partly wooded area - informal layout with good level pitches makes it feel quite informal. Reception helpful but not much English. Covered pool is small and in a strange position but as the site develops this make be a different case. Facilities are ok but now in need of updating - clean enough but no sign of methodical cleaning at any set point/s in the day.
Laon is nice and a good 3k walk but does feature one steep climb. Noise from the nearby shooting range was limited and not for prolonged period
