Good access despite small lane - might be awkward if busy or with people parked for beach. Staff very polite and helpful. WiFi is extra. Showers and loos were modern and clean. We called and booked the night before and we given the last pitch which was a bit awkward with a caravan and sadly backed onto a semi busy road. This was late August. The cycling was excellent and enjoyable. The site is on the outskirts of the main ‘holiday’ area. There are shops nearby either a short walk or cycle. The pitches were hedged and generally in groups of 4 and not overly generous.
Visited in June, low season, very few staff and very limited opeining hours for bar and shop. This in itself is not a problem as expected in low season. The site has not improved much in the 3 years since we visited last, they have built a glass orangerie, that hosts weddings every saturday night with loud music till 02.00. In addition the facility is used for confrences and meetings, which also maked noise late into the night, the latest being 04.00. This was mentioned to the staff who were very offhand and did nothing to resolve the complaint.
The toilet block had no or very little hot water. This took 14 days to rectify, we got the feeling that the guests and delagates to the Orangerie were treated as the sites primary guests, the campers were a by product. The pool area is showing signs of age and does not look particularly well maintained, the grass around the campsite was not cut and the publicised walks around the grounds were overgrown and unpassable.
perhaps Le Direction is looking at the wedding and conference industry for his future, to us an excellent site now ruined, we will not be back.
Stopped here for a couple of nights, the host and hostess were welcoming, friendly and helpful with local information.
A short walk to the beach and great cycle routes along the coast north and south.
Lovely tidy and well managed site. Toilets excellent and swimming pool ideal.
This is a lovely campsite very well run by the site owners. There was just one place on arrival. The reception closed when we arrived during lunchtime but the owner came out to us and guided us to the only remaining pitch and told us to come back later to register. The pitch was spacious and level. Electricity and water at pitch. Toilets and showers are very well maintained. There is great cycling and walking routes nearby and a beautiful beach. The WiFi was not free but very reasonable. I would highly recommend this campsite.
There was a very warm welcome for us even though we turned up during lunch time. We were given a choice of pitches, and although it’s a bit tight for larger vehicles, once set up, we really happy with the location and facilities on site. The toilet and shower facilities are first class, very clean and plenty of hot water. There are plenty of walks and cycle paths nearby and the beach and town are a short walk away. There is a small shop selling basics (the bread is excellent and better and cheaper than the boulangerie in town) and there also do takeaways. RVW
What a gem, small but perfectly suited to our taste. The small team at la foret are brilliant. The campsite is well maintained and toilet and shower facilities are first class. Cycle route opposite the entrance and a path through the wood takes you to the beach, we loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate in returning. Thanks
This is an excellent amily run campsite. The welcome was sincere and heartwarming. The pitches are good and the location is perfect. Showers toilets etc are spotless. Would highly recommend.
This has to be one of the best ACSI sites we have stayed in - we felt completely at home within an hour of arriving. The owners have to be the most friendly and helpful that we have come across and the site reflects the hard work that they and their staff put in. The facilities are kept extremely clean and the whole campsite feels well run. There is plentiful hot water for showers, basins and washing up. Wifi is sensibly priced and perfectly good. The take away food was very good. Notre Dame is about a kilometre away and the main beach a little less however there is also a sandy beach a short walk through the forest. The campsite is well suited to those with bikes with a very good cycle track just over the road from the entrance and an extensive network of cycle routes. This is a site we will certainly visit again.
Site is on beautiful coast, slept on beach, only sea could be heard, perfect. Cycle paths to your hearts content, on beach, through forest, on prom. Family run, owners could not be more helpful and welcoming. Would definitely come here again. Weather was glorious.
Stayed on this wonderful family run site for a week en route back to the UK .
I had stayed at La Foret 20 years ago when my children were very young and I wanted to spend some time there again, it turned out to be an excellent choice. Fabulous, helpful staff, great moules/ frites fresh bread every morning and a pizza van once a week outside the site :-)
The swimming pool was immaculately kept being a perfect temperature at all times,
It was a short walk to an unspoilt beach through the pine forest, plenty of cycle rides and within close proximity to Notre Dame de Monts.
