Travelling party: Couple

We stayed at Camping de La Foret for 5 nights in September, near the end of the season. All we ask for is a spacious pitch, EHU, WiFi and not too far to hike to the shower block. The electricity was 16A, so no tripping the switch every time I dried my hair. The toilets were absolutely spotless - my only gripe here was that men and women were sharing one side of the toilet block due to the site being quiet. Well, it wasn’t that quiet and I prefer not to be startling men by appearing in “their” toilet block! The staff were really friendly and spoke to me in French but were happy to use English when I was struggling! The surroundings are lovely, there is a gate out of the campsite onto the lakeside at Sillé Plage and it’s perfect for dog walking and cycling round the lake.

This is a lovely, relaxed campsite with a friendly atmosphere. We had choice of a range of pitches that were all of a good size and had neat hedges for privacy. The staff were extremely helpful and happy to advise on the local area. Loan of laminated plans of a range of cycle routes was really useful.

Lovely site surrounded by forest. Pitches in shade and sun - plenty of choice when we stayed as only one other outfit on site when we arrived! Excellent walk round the lake and an easy walk into the interesting town of Sille although be aware of the steep climb back up to the forest/lake.

Arrived at 14:45 to be told reception was closed until 15:00, so being English politly waited. Next minute a French guest turns up and the receptionist has no problem immediately sorting him out until 15:15. Total ignorance. Needless to say we didn\'t stop.

Excellent value site - toilet paper, hand soap and hand dryer in the separate gents and ladies toilets, which for the price is unusual. Only minor gripe non adjustable water temperature in showers and I would have liked a few degrees warmer. You also need to ignore the housemartins/swallows nesting in the eaves above the toilets, all part of getting close to nature. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Great location and quiet at night. We only stayed one night on our way up to port and as previously stated by another reviewer this is by far the better of the two campsites on this lake. Will not hesitate to use this site again.

Very warm welcome at this lovely site. We had booked but in truth there was plenty of space and the few pitches occupied nearly all had GB plates. Choice of pitches with easy access to electrics and very spacious and well maintained. Two sanitary blocks, one a little newer than the other but both super-clean. A gate leads to the lake which is very attractive including a small sandy beach and two bar/restaurants (one closed in early June but opening as we left). Good cycle ride around the lake and into the village (quite a tough climb back though). Not a lot going on in the village and the main feature, the Chateau, was only open for a couple of days a week in June. Very peaceful site, great value with the ACSI card and we would definitely return.

Best Flower Camping site we have stayed on so far and reasonable price for generous pitch and free Wi-Fi. Be warned that this site is used by parties of children camping on activity breaks. However, they seem to have their own facilities and the site is so big that it is easy to avoid them. Sports facilities are at the adjacent lake.

Fantastic campsite. Spotless facilities. Really friendly staff with a great sence of humour. Large pitches choice of shade or full sun. Direct access to a large lake for swimming and water sports. We stayed 2 nights but could easily have stayed a week. Great site for a family.

Stayed here for 5 nights. A nice quiet site, out of season, but should imagine hectic in high season. The pitches are huge for caravans/mhomes, but there are some very small weird shaped pitches that are suitable for tents. The pitch we had 120, was very sunny all day but there are shady pitches. The 2 staff we had contact with were very helpful and tolerated my French efforts, as mentioned previously Mary is excellent.
The area immediately outside the site is heavily forested and next to a lake. Its about 2 miles around and has numerous walks and cycle tracks. On the lakeside you can hire a variety of water craft, also there are several cafes/restaurants and a sandy beach.
Not much around to visit, there is supermarket in nearby town.

This is a lovely campsite. We visited after being flooded out of our site on the Loire and were delighted by the welcome from Mary on reception. We telephoned just prior to our arrival and she actually delayed her lunch break to book us in. Pitches are huge and the facilities first class. My wife needed to use the laundry facilities (mud from our previous site) and these too were excellent. The surrounding area provides for walking, cycling, kayaking and fishing. Perfect for our spaniel. If there was any down side it was the number of flies but we put this down to the warm, moist weather. All in all a great site.
