Fantastic site, it is long and thin alongside the river so many pitches face the river and it feels much smaller than it actually is.
The toilets/showers etc have all been recently updated and are superb. Paper provided but no soap or toilet seats.
The pitches are large, flat and divided by hedges with plenty of shade from trees should you want it. The power points can be some distance away.
Lovely short walk along the river bank into town which has everything you could possibly need including a chateau, the information office has a town walk guide.
We did not use/see the swimming pool so can not comment.
All in all a lovely site and one we will happily return to.

Travelling party: Seniors

Quiet campsite alongside the river Loir. The river is fenced off with access via gates to it and a path into the village (10mins walk) or over the bridge to a super u (15 to 20 mins walk). Good sized flat grass pitches. Toilet/shower block kept clean. Didn\'t seem to be much in the village beside the chateau, which was closed. I think it has set times for opening for guided tours. Would visit this site again if in the area.

Great stopover as very close to motorway. Very quiet site with beautiful location by the river Loir. Neat pitches of various sizes. Well kept grounds. Immaculate sanitary block. Super U within easy walking distance along riverside walk. Best croissants in bakery in the middle of town. Lovely bread and cakes in bakery near site. Would definitely visit again.

When we first arrived I wasn’t overly impressed having just come from a pitch on the Seine. How wrong I was, we had booked for 3 nights and left 11 nights later. I said to my wife “we’ve got to go we’ve got a ferry to catch in two days! Had a lovely pitch on banks of Loire smaller gate onto towpath and short walk into town. Site well kept receptionist very helpful and pleasant. Really interesting area we were lucky that a ‘brocante’ with over 400 stalls took place while we were there. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time. We were able to choose a spacious pitch alongside the river path which also enabled us to get TV reception. Toilet/showers were fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had pizza and chips on site which were good. Short walk along river path to bread shop and town. Super U over bridge about 15 min walk away. We obtained a town walk leaflet from the tourist information office which enabled us to learn more about Durtal as we walked around. Would definitely visit again.

Stayed here one night. No restaurant or bar open. Although the site is nice - some large pitches, clean toilet and shower block with lovely hot water, the town of Durtal itself let the site down. There is only really the Chateau to see and that is not open very often to the public. The few restaurants were all closed! Would I go back - no.

We had planned to stay only one night but the location ( lovely views of river), peace and proximity to the town made us decide to stay a little longer. We will defiantly return again, good stop for travelling South from Cherbourg.

An excellent choice for our first visit to France. The staff were always extremely helpful, toilets and showers very clean and a beautiful location on the banks of the river. Thoroughly recommended.

Travelling party: Seniors

Very good campsite. Very clean facilities and loads of hot water for showers and washing up. Bit of a long way from the electrical hook up point for our pitch so had to trail it over the ajoining pitch. Did not use the swimming pool, but wouldn't want a pitch near it as the pump was very noisy. We had a lovely pitch overlooking the river with lovely walks directly from the site.

Travelling party: Seniors

We were here 4 nights with very variable weather. The pitches are level and drain well in wet weather with the ones by the river very pleasant. The unisex toilet block is modern and very clean. The staff were excellent but with little English. There is a bar, a little expensive, and free wifi around reception/bar. There are very pleasant walks along the river and into town but we found the town of Durtal a bit dull and disappointing. A massive chateau and not a lot else. But the surroundin area is good.
