We were here mid September and the site was quiet with lots of choice of pitches which were large, flat and private with tall shrubs giving privacy and some shade. The swimming pool was beautifully clean (cleaned every day) and warm, we often had it to ourselves. Staff were friendly and courteous and are proud of their site They don’t use and chemical fertilisers or pesticides on the site and the shop, sells only organic milk and organic wines which was to be admired in my opinion. Rotary driers are provided and much appreciated. The restaurant was OK, some meals better than others! Toilets and showers were clean although hot water wasn’t always available. I would go there again without a hesitation.
Lovely campsite and great pool......... ...................................will definitely use it again.
Bioparc nearby is well worth a visit
Lovely clean campsite. Clean toilets with seats and toilet paper. Nice hot showers. 18m heated pool. All very clean
Good sized pitches.
Despite it being September there was bread available in the morning (order by 5pm the day before). There is plenty to do in the area.
Little booklet provided on arrival with handy info (supermarkets, markets etc). Rotary washing line provided
Only negative was no charcoal BBQs allowed. Not sure why.
Just returned home from 9 fabulous nights camping (tent). The pitches are large with sun or shade and enough privacy as required from bushes. The toilets and showers were cleaned to a high standard throughout the day. The swimming pool was beautiful, lovely and warm and always very clean as were the surrounding areas. Plenty of activities also to keep the little ones occupied. We had a take away pizza on our last night from the restaurant which was very good and a lovely cold beer on arrival which was a godsend as it was hot pitching up. The French owners were very friendly and helpful and always happy to give out information on what is available in the area and there is so much to see and do and a lot of it on their doorstep. All in all we had a great time at this fabulous campsite which was quiet during the day and night and would thoroughly recommend it for discovering what the Loire valley has to offer.
Very well maintained campsite with pleasant owners. First class toilet facilities and kept scrupulously clean. Town easy to walk to, but only one bar.
Good walks from the site on very quiet roads if you turn right outside entrance. Go to the park and town by turning left from the site, follow the lane down and over the bridge. Small downside there is a sewage works on the far bank. No smells of anything, but for some strange reason all the trees on the far bank were cut down. You wouldn\'t know if was there other wise.
First stay at this site. Stopped off after reading other reviews and was not disappointed. The owners do speak some English. There are standard and grand comfort size pitches which were the same cost for Acsi. There is one main facility block in the middle of the site which is kept spotless. Very hot water, toilet paper and toilet seats in place. Free wifi at the restaurant and reception areas. Pitches are flat, with high hedging for privacy and some are very shady. The pool was open twice and the information from reception stated that it is only open in July and August, which we were unhappy about as stayed there for 4 nights, so it would appear that the pool is open only when the owners feel like it during out of season times. The town of Doue-La-Fontaine is 20 mins by cycle, about 5 mins by car and the are 3 supermarkets there and a zoo. Saumur is approximately 20 miles away and there is a lot to see there, including the Chateau. The site is just off the main road with easy access for caravans and motor homes and the site has some pitches without electricity for tents and those inclined not to use it. We would definitely stay here again.
Visited beginning September, current owners have only had this site one month, very impressed with the cleanliness of the toilet block especially the size of the showers. Think probably previous owner let the site get rather overgrown, untidy, but no doubt the young couple who have it know will address these things given time.
