A really nice site in a stunning area. Toilets, showers and washing up area always spotlessly clean with lots of hot water. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent swimming pool. Pleasant bar area with limited menu but open all through to when we left on 20th September. Our only concern was the condition of some of the tent pitches which were somewhat overgrown and rutted. Luckily the site was quiet at this time so we still had a choice of 5 or 6 really good ones. Nearby town of St Lary is smart ski resort which was still lively in summer with an excellent market on a Saturday. Small bar in the village of Vielle Aure 1K from site had the best value coffee we found and the next door restaurant La Table De Fontaine serves an incredible 4 course lunch menu including wine for less than £10 Monday to Friday and £11 on a Saturday. Advisable to book as extremely popular with locals!
Friendly reception. Good pitches, well separated with hedges. Heated toilet block with separate male/female toilets. No wifi, but internet access available using a PC in reception. Good dog exercise area outside back gate. It was April and we could not get into National Park because of snow.
Well run site convenient for walking, cycling and local shopping. Very clean sanitary facilities. Beautiful area. We visited twice in 2013 and will return in 2014. Perfect fro watching the Tour de France either at low level or on nearby mountains.
The site is well situated on a flat plain beside a river between the mountains. Good cycling and scenery. A well organised site, notices were set up to warn of a thunderstorm.
