Travelling party: Single

Stayed in May but very wet weather with thunderstorms
very helpful friendly staff at reception
well drained site despite heavy rain
good well maintained showers and toilets ,very clean
bar but did not use it
very good area for lots of walks and near to caves
20 minute walk to small town with lots of bars and restaurants and good food and bakery.
supermarket 5 minutes drive out of town
recommend eating at the Hotel Le chalet if you want an excellent meal or at the Hotel Grillon if you want less expensive but traditional French food
thoroughly recommend this campsite for a great base for a holiday

Travelling party: Seniors

A pleasant terraced campsite with good toilet and washing up facilities. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant & pool were closed. The nearby N20 does cause road noise although it was not too intrusive. There were very pleasant walks along the river to a nearby village and into the town of Ax-les-Thermes. Le Grand Cafe in the town provided very good meals at reasonable prices.

Travelling party: Couple

The staff are very nice and helpful however other customers were not very friendly and we felt unwelcomed. The toliet block close to us had no hotwater for showers, dishes or laundry and the dish washing area was not cleaned in the 5 days we were there. The area is very beautiful and the VTT good although the town itself did not offer much and we would only return as a stop over point if passing through and not stay for any length of time.

Travelling party: Seniors

Site ok and a good base for getting to Andorra. Staff were very helpful but our nearest toilet block had no hot water either for showers or dishwashing evening and the following morning.

Travelling party: Seniors

We visited this site en route to Spain as it is handy for the Puymorens Tunnel, being directly off the N20. (Some road noise). Excellent, heated facilities and good sized pitches (marked, open but some off with hedge marked lanes). We pitched near the entrance but had we been staying longer we would have gone down by the river. Bar, restaurant and pool closed low season - very few vans on site.
Short, pleasant, riverside walk into Ax - nice, small town. Recommended.

Travelling party: Seniors

We visited off season in early February. The main facilities were not open, but no matter, the site was an excellent choice for us en route for Spain. We stayed three nights and also visited Andorra which was within easy reach.
On arrival the site was under a foot of snow. We were told to choose our pitch and they would clear it of snow.
This promise was carried out within five minutes of us choosing our spot. Full marks!
The toilet blocks wer heated and very clean.
We would not hesitate to re-use thise site.
