A wonderful site in lovely surroundings shaded by numerous trees.
A 5 minute walk takes you into the heart of the ancient town of Beaulieu with its shaded winding streets. Plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes and opportunities to stock up with food and essentials. There is a large supermarket and cheap fuel a couple of miles to the south of the town.
Lovely walks along the riverside. The pool area looked attractive but we didn\'t use it as there was little shade and air temperatures were very high when we visited.
The receptionist was very helpful, however we were surprised that he was unaware of the location and times of church services, stating he had never been asked that before.
A wonderful site that we would highly recommend .
Excellent site with spacious pitches with shade under the trees. The location is perfect for Sarlat, only a 10 minute walk. The staff are friendly and helpful with excellent English spoken. We were in the site for a week in May and will definitely return.
The washrooms are clean and tidy, there\'s even a hairdryer.
Location and campsite are superb, easy walk to local shops bars and restaurants. Only negative is that bar and bar food not available on site in June we were there the last 2 weeks of June which is considered low season.p, but it didn\'t matter too much as so much available nearby. We will definitely be back.
A lovely site we\'ve visited here many times stayed for 2 weeks and shall return next year, one of our favourite sites in France
Wonderful position on an island in the river right next to the village centre. We paid 6E extra per night to have a riverside pitch and chose a big one. Despite it being the weekend of the Strawberry Festival [second Sunday in May] it was very quiet. We didn\'t see much wildlife other than a few ducks and a few fishermen. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. Bread could be ordered at reception but it was much more fun to do the two minutes walk to the boulangerie. We asked what to do with our grey water and were told we could put it in the drain under the tap next to our pitch. We didn\'t use the toilets or restaurant so can\'t comment but they are there for those who want them. Highly recommend this site.
As a location, it would be hard to beat this site. The bread run each morning was utterly delightful. Literally 50 yards from the entrance, through a stone archway, and you are in medieval cobbled streets with half timbered beautiful buildings of the old town looming over you. The little square has everything you need - gift shops, epicerie, wine, and of course a wonderful patisserie with lovely chatty staff. We had a good-sized pitch at the river\'s edge and were treated to sightings of red squirrel, beautiful birds and ducks, fly-fishermen, and even a family of Coypu nesting in a little pond near the pitch! Toilet and showers were busy but clean. Therre were mercifully no mozzies! I\'d recommend a drive to Rocamadour for top of your local visit list, and then go to each of the \"Most Beautiful Villages in France\" on the map the fantastic staff give you at reception.
Friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful location on an island in the river Dordogne. Close proximity to both the old town and the footpaths along the banks of the river. Swimming pool excellent with separate pool for toddlers within the same enclosure. There was a paella evening in the bar area while we were there, which was very enjoyable. Bar only seems to be open during high season, unless special function, but there are plenty of watering holes in the town. This was our third visit to the campsite and there will be more.
Delightful wooded site, lovely setting. Very helpful staff. Premium per night out of season for riverside pitches, some very small. Long grass on many pitches, including the one reserved for us. We chose another but grass on first one and many others still not cut during our ten days there. Many statics. Very good value.
An absolutly wonderful campsite. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful, the campsite is beautifully presented and maintained, the toilet facilities are spotless, the washing up water really hot and the paella evening was lots of and excellent. To walk straight from the campsite into the really interesting town or onto the banks of the lovely River Dordogne just added to a throroughly enjoyable first, but certainly not last visit.
This is an absolutly lovely campsite. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful, the campsite is beautifully presented and maintained. The toilet facilities are spotless, the washing up water really hot and the paella night (just Euros 9.50) tons of it and well cooked. The swimming pool looked great, just a shame the weather meant we could not make use of it. The town behind is really interesting and to be able to walk straight from the campsite into it or the beautiful Dordogne River bank just added to a wonderful (and certainly not last) visit.
