Fantastic and peaceful site with lovely large pitches. It\'s also fantastic to be right in Beaulieu which is a lovely village. We will definitely return here as this is one of the best sites we have stayed on. Cannot comment on the accommodation as not used and entertainment hadn\'t begun yet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Wonderful.
Beautifully positioned site with an easy stroll into a pretty town with bars and restaurants and food shops. Cote d’Dordogne restaurant was especially fabulous. Site Facilities new and clean. A suggestion is for hand washing soap dispensers at sinks by toilets, for simple hygiene reasons (In place on their sister campsites) - Others come and wash and also clean there teeth there. Office staff were excellent. Pitches were well laid out and mostly level. Nice site for families.
Wonderful position on an island in the river right next to the village centre. We paid 6E extra per night to have a riverside pitch and chose a big one. Despite it being the weekend of the Strawberry Festival [second Sunday in May] it was very quiet. We didn't see much wildlife other than a few ducks and a few fishermen. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. Bread could be ordered at reception but it was much more fun to do the two minutes walk to the boulangerie. We asked what to do with our grey water and were told we could put it in the drain under the tap next to our pitch. We didn't use the toilets or restaurant so can't comment but they are there for those who want them. Highly recommend this site.
We\'ve visited here for several years now, and plan to return again. One fellow camper described it as \"paradise\" - it\'s a parkland setting, with chaffinches, cole tits and nuthatches feeding right in front of you. The river runs either side, a cold mountain stream; theres usually a heron or a fly fisherman there.
The Huttopia ethos is a good fit, with natural shower blocks and a casual friendliness from the staff. During one intense storm, the management were touring the site making sure everyone was OK. This friendliness sets the tone for the clientele too.
The town is literally at the gate; there\'s an excellent restaurant just round the corner serving modern cuisine (think Raymond Blanc) for most lunchtimes, and several others of high quality. There are 4/5 baker/patisseries, markets twice a week, and a couple of small shops. Fuel is available at Intermarché over the river, or at Leclerc in the next town.
Very very nice. We were in our Motorhome and pitched by the river. I would visit again given most things were great; the town, the environment etc etc. Lovely peaceful site once all the kids had gone
Excellent site with spacious pitches with shade under the trees. The location is perfect for Sarlat, only a 10 minute walk. The staff are friendly and helpful with excellent English spoken. We were in the site for a week in May and will definitely return.
The washrooms are clean and tidy, there's even a hairdryer.
A lovely site we've visited here many times stayed for 2 weeks and shall return next year, one of our favourite sites in France
Nice site on island in the river, toilet facilities good but no handrails on very slippery steps down from the loo block.
Staff excellent, nice little town.
Lovely historic region with stunning views lots to see.
A wonderful site in lovely surroundings shaded by numerous trees.
A 5 minute walk takes you into the heart of the ancient town of Beaulieu with its shaded winding streets. Plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes and opportunities to stock up with food and essentials. There is a large supermarket and cheap fuel a couple of miles to the south of the town.
Lovely walks along the riverside. The pool area looked attractive but we didn't use it as there was little shade and air temperatures were very high when we visited.
The receptionist was very helpful, however we were surprised that he was unaware of the location and times of church services, stating he had never been asked that before.
A wonderful site that we would highly recommend .
Large sprawling site by the River Dordogne - you pay extra for pitches by the riverside. Fairly level and different sizes - good mix of sun and shade. Very pleasant to stroll around the site and exciting to walk over the footbridge over the weir. Lovely walk upriver into the historic village which has enough shops/cafes for your immediate needs or you can go via the main entrance (-which is quite narrow - turn down the road by the side of the Pharmacy on arrival). 5 mt drive to good Intermarche which also has a laverie at the back of the car park and well priced fuel.
