Very surprised at the suspicious/hostile response we received at reception. We had walked past it unchallenged to view the huge number of unoccupied waterlogged pitches available but were still confronted over our knowledge of our pitch choice. 50/50 as whether to stay or go. We are forgiving people. Facilities generally good but a bit bizarre - mixed toilets and showers but not really. Atmosphere on the site not good but only reflecting the precedent set by reception. Site not ready as strimmers and power tools evident through late am and early pm. Not very relaxing. Very convenient for Canal du Midi cycling. Use it to your advantage but not for its raison d\'etre. ps the campsite wine priced at the checkout is a waste of money. Buy elsewhere.
Nice site, right by the canal, friendly reception. Only issue is swimming pool not open until 1st June, despite what acsi book says. This is the second time this had happened to us, come on acsi, get your facts right.
We have contacted the campsite about this. Due to bad weather and flooding, the swimming pool was closed. They expect to reopen the swimming pool in mid-June.
There had been a lot of rain over the previous few days and most of the non-hardstanding pitches were very wet and cordoned off. We were put on a small hardstanding area for about 8 pitches which was fine.
The sanitaires were not the most modern but we’re good. The showers had plenty of hot water and the toilets had paper. No seat, but you can live with that in France.
We would definitely come again in better weather to see the area. Bezier is easily accessible.
Quite a nice little campsite, albeit we were there at the end of the season and the pool and restaurant were closed. Small campervan pitches at the back of the site and a bit scruffy. Sanitary block clean and adequate but with no toilet seats (this is not acceptable in modern camping - do the owners have toilet seats?). Brilliant position alongside the canal du midi with options for walking, cycling or boating. A few minutes walk into the village and to the bus stop for a 50 cent ride into Béziers.
placed a minute walk from the lovely canal. 20 min cycle to Beziers ....if you go the right way. ... We didn\'t ! Great security. We arrived late so only the gravel standings left. Lovely but next time would arrive earlier to get a tree pitch. pool lovely.
One of our favourite sites. The staff are so helpful and cheerful. The sanitaires are very modern and always clean. The front gate is right next to the lovely Canal du Midi, giving easy access to the cycle path. A bus service goes into nearby charming city of Beziers from the end of the road. Our second visit and we will be back.
Don\'t go to this campsite. On the day we arrived, there were 2 pitches available, at 8:30 pm 6 Italian large campers arrived in convoy, rather than reject them the campsite allowed them to park in the middle of the small field we were in and surround the pitches we were not enjoying very much. Blocking in 2 cars and a tent. The poor German couple in a tent next door had to suffer 12 for dinner starting at 10pm about 1.5m from there canvas with full on lighting effects. Apart from that the campsite is poor, in a bad location, overpriced and with limited local restaurants to escape too. At 8m we also had to push the van round a corner . Avoid at all costs... as an aside it seems to be more of a permanent site not necessary accommodating tourers.
We arrived at his campsite after rain the night before. On entering the site it all looked a bit unkept but we have travelled Europe for many years so have stayed on many sites good and bad so was not concerned. We were told there was 3 pitches that were the best after the rain so drove in and found on (all of them just mud) unhitched the caravan on the best one. I decided to have a look around the site, not good it seem to be mostly itinerants, the whole place is run down and the facilities were shared (male and female) which was ok but the doors were left wide to the elements and much to be desired. We hitched up and left - In 13 years of touring for months in Europe this is only the second time we have done this.
friendly helpful staff. quiet clean surroundings, location excellent for cycling to town, shops, beach and of course along the canal du midi. hard based pitch
This mature and wooded site is located on the banks of the Canal du Midi, near Villeneuve de Beziers, a small town with market and local shops. It is great base for cycling along the canal to Beziers itself or to the coast.
Although the caravan pitches in the old part of the site are large enough and well shaded etc., the area for camper vans is located in a new(ish) extension of the site itself and does not quite have the ambiance of the rest of the site, being rather open and unshaded. These pitches tend to be very small and close together with a consequent loss of privacy. At times it felt a little like being in an 'aire' but without a commensurate reduction in the tariff!
Having said that we enjoyed our stay, met some interesting people and apart from the above reservations about the pitches would recommend it.
