Nice camping, close to the beach. near Valras Plage.
Firstly, animals are not allowed so no dog poo on your shoes and no annoying barking - perfect! It is a large site, typical of the beach sites in this region. The site offers direct access to the beach, nice swimming pool with plenty of interest for kids, bar/cafe on site with reasonable prices, supermarket and bakers just around the corner - everything you could need.
Staff are friendly and helpful. When you arrive you get to chose your own pitch, plenty available in our case. Pitches are mostly level, some shade available but limited and varying amounts of privacy between pitches. Ground is sandy so quite easy to use pegs. Electric hook up units can be quite a way from some pitches so you may need a long cable. The sanitation blocks are fine, not the most modern you’ll find, but plenty of facilities and the showers are good. They are kept clean and rubbish cleared regularly. Free Wifi works some of the time, but it is far from reliable. The site has good security, but it did seem like a safe area. The beach is extensive, sandy and uncrowded (in June). I was concerned that a site like this would be noisy, but it was quiet at night. At the weekends there is some noise from a nearby campsite depending on wind direction, but not very intrusive and finishing at 11pm. There is a bus stop outside the gate to Valras Plage and Béziers beyond. The latter is definitely worth a visit, but you won’t be missing much if you don’t go to Valras Plage. All-in-all a nice site, recommended off season, but maybe not for all in high season?
First impression is that it looks run down. Pitches are poorly marked and not well maintained, grounds men are falling behind in their tasks.
On the plus side, location is great, on the beach, short cycle ride from centre of town.
Swimming pool is large and first class and heated perfectly.
Stayed here on our way south, returned again on our way home and would revisit another time.
This is a large open site and we were able to choose our own pitch. Service area adequate but showers need attention as some drain covers missing and a live-in toad taking up residence in one. Plenty of toilets and everywhere clean. The best asset is the proximity to the beach which was really lovely. Didn\'t get to visit the pool area which was on the other side of the camp so can\'t comment. Only stayed 2 nights as gale force winds predicted and it was far to open to want to stay longer.
Large camp site good big pitches. It was very hot for June in the high 30's hence little grass & a bit dusty, has a hand do it yourself car wash. Toilets were clean except one which looked very tired needs some paint. Excellent swimming pool area, direct access to beach which was a bit steep the futher so get from the' reception. Staff very helpfull No dogs brilliant. Beware reception will not accept credit or debit cards unless pushed. Would visit again on balance due good large pitches swimming area & right beside the beach.
Visited 01/09/15, even thou many spare pitches we were put close together with everyone, wish we had asked to move to more free area
Train into valras stopped running on 6th September shame
Extremely poor internet facilities needs to upgrade service to all
Given nothing on arrival, no info on times of road train or buses
We stayed 29/8 - 4/9 plenty of free pitches but they cram you in small area
Camping La Plage et du Bord de Mer is one great facility for the whole family. I have the best time every summer and keep coming for more! It's just one of those places that has it all: beach right in front of you, fun events, good food, privileged location in one of the best areas of France in the Mediterrenean.
The staff is friendly and summers are hot and fun!
Travelled with car and caravan and arrived here 27 August and still very busy. Had a pitch near to the beach and close to the swimming pool. The site was quiet and relaxing even though it was busy. Excellent beach and less than a 100 metre walk. Although we are seniors, we saw there was plenty for families and children to do. We used ACSI discount card and we saved quite a bit on a ten night stay. We will visit again.
Very pleasant staff, site quiet, private access to lovely sandy beach with excellent security. Bar and snacks very reasonable prices with good local shops off site for bakery and local wine. This site was picked by our kids for the swimming pool and slides and they didn't disappoint. Busy Valras centre is a relaxed 15 min cycle away.
